3 Functional description Te macine RV F 60 is a mecanical vapour recompression evaporator for te treatment of water based liquids. For component identification refer to figure 1. Figure 1 Te circles wit alpanumeric caracters indicate te main sensors on te macine. Te Roman numerals and dased rectangles indicate te optional systems and accessories. Te numbers next to te inlets and outlets indicate te various connections to te process lines. 3.1 Process liquids circuit Te liquid to be treated, before entering te boiling camber D01 (were te vacuum conditions of 70 kpa and 90 C are maintained), is preeated in te eat excanger E03 by te concentrate (if te optional system V is installed) and in E02 by te discarging distillate. Pump G02 works continuously recirculating te liquid to be treated in order to keep clean te excanger E02 and feeding te boiler troug opening of valve VP01, controlled by te level sensor LS01. Te concentrate is recirculated by te pump G01 wic pumps it troug te primary eat excanger E01 (tube side). Witin E01 te liquid receives from te condensing vapour te eat necessary to boil;; once eated, te concentrate is sent again to te boiling camber D01. As a result of te vacuum, a portion of te liquid immediately boils (flas evaporation). Te produced vapour passes troug te drops separator (H04) in order to eliminate suspended liquid drops and improve te quality of te output distillate. Te blower K01 compresses te vapour and sends it to te eat excanger E01 (sell side) were it releases te latent eat to te process liquid. Te condensed vapour is collected in te tank D02 and ten it is discarged by te pump G03 after a eat excange in E02. Te sensor CE01 measures te conductivity of te distillate: ig conductivity means ig entrainment of liquid in te boiling camber and te macine sows an alarm to te operator. Te temperature sensor TE02 measures te temperature of te distillate in D02. Te flow sensor FT01 measures te amount of distillate discarged. EVALED RTC ENG DIC 2016 page 3/8

Te concentrate is discarged automatically troug te valve VP05. Flow sensor FT02 measures te amount of concentrate discarged. Te density meter DT01 (if te optional system I is installed) allows to discarge te concentrate once it reaces a density value set by te user. During te startup of te macine te liquid in te boiler D01 and te distillate in D02 are eated by te resistors ER01- ER02- ER03-ER05-ER06. Te incondensable gases are discarged troug a dedicated cimney (outlet 5, see Figure 1). Dry cooler K03 (if te optional system VI is installed) allows to condense possible residual vapours exiting troug te vent. 3.2 Mecanical vapour recompression Te produced vapour in te boiling camber D01 is sucked into te positive displacement blower K01 tat, by means of te compression, raises te temperature;; afterwards te vapour passes troug te sell of te excanger E01 were it condenses and releases te latent eat to te recirculated liquid of te boiling camber. Valve VP10, during startup pase, is open in order to allow a gradual startup of te blower K01. Fan K02 allows to keep controlled te temperature of te oil in te blower in order to extend its service life in case of operation in termally ard conditions. 3.3 Termal recovery systems Termal recovery is realised troug te excangers E03 (if te optional system V is installed) and E02. Te liquid to be treated crosses bot of tem and warms up before entering te boiling camber. Temperature sensor TE08 measures te temperature of te liquid to be treated entering te boiler after te recovery excangers. Te concentrate passes troug te tube and sell eat excanger E03 and cools down, before its discarging, as a consequence of te eat excange wit te liquid to be treated. Valve VP03 (if te optional system V is installed) allows te flow of te liquid to be treated troug excanger E03. Te distillate enters te eat excanger E02 and cools down, before its discarging, as a consequence of te eat excange wit te liquid to be treated. Temperature sensor TE07 measures te temperature of te distillate editing te macine. 3.4 Auxiliary liquids Antifoam, supplied by te opening of te timed valve VP06. If optional OC AF F is present, antifoam is metered automatically. Te foam sensor SS01 detects te presence of foam in D01 and commands te opening of valve VP06. Additive supplied wit pump G07 if te optional system OM AD F is installed. Tap water for wasing of components inside te boiling camber D01, troug timed valves VP07 (sensor LS01 wasing) and VP12 (foam sensor SS01 wasing, if te optional system OC AF F is installed). Bactericide for te distillate, if te optional system AM BT D is installed. 4 Configurations Te evaporator can be configured according to te specific needs of te customer in terms of cemical-pysical properties of te feed liquid and ambient temperature of te installation site. Te configurable components are described in te following table, wit teir identification codes. (for installations at iger altitude contact VWT Italia). Te nominal performances stated in tis document are guaranteed wit a feed temperature between +20 and +70 C and a concentrate discarge 20% facing te liquid to be treated;; tese performances are guaranteed for an atmosperic pressure of te installation environment of 1013 mbar (about 14.7 psi corresponding to 0 meters above te sea level). 10 Installation requirements Te macine is designed to be installed outdoor (atmosperic agent resistant), on a orizontal surface tat can support te weigts listed in section 8. Around te macine perimeter it is necessary to set some clearance zones to allow te personnel and te maintenance operators to work wit no obstacles and to keep te air transit free (sown in Figure 2). Te feed pipe must be sized in order to assure te required ead at pump suction, wit recommended flow velocity < 0,5 m/s. Te sectioning of te process lines by means of manual valves is at user s carge. Te liquid to be treated must contain a low amount of coarse material tat must ave a diameter lower tan 800μm. Oterwise it is necessary to install a feed prefiltration device. Te macine is supplied wit a collector for te conveyance of vapour and non-condensable gases (see output 5 in figure 1) tat must be advisably canalized, if necessary, in respect of te local regulations. Te data for comparison wit incineration was weigted for macine efficiency, i.e. te ratio between te initial liquid waste to be treated and te residual concentrate to be disposed of. 12 Cemical products Cemical products are required during te normal operation of te macine. In order to obtain te best performances togeter wit minimum consumptions, te manufacturer recommends using "Hydrex" cemical products. "Hydrex" is te VEOLIA brand tat meets te cemical products requirements of te wastewater treatment and process water production.
