There will be bar service at the Tiki Bar. This is a great time to bring a guest! We take advantage of the patio by the pool, enjoy some live music, maybe a little dancing, a couple of cocktails and the most amazing view in the area. Casual Attire - dress for dancing! We ll have appetizers for $6 per person from 6 to 7:30. Sitting Service will be available at $10 per child. Reservations must be made by Wednesday, June 8th. If there are no reservations,we will not have a sitter available. Second Sunday Funday! June 12 2 to 4pm This was such a hit last year that we re doing it again this summer! So bring the entire family and have a real Family Fun Day! There will be Bags, Bocce Ball & Croquet on the front lawn. The lifeguards are planning a lot of water games at the pool! Fun for all ages! IVY Raft Out Saturday, June 18 Anchor at 3:00, ceremony at 5:30 Renew Your Relationship on the River! Girls wear white (or old wedding gown) and guys wear black shorts and black ties - brides & grooms. Provide your own food and drink. A boat is not necessary, you can hitch a ride! The ceremony will be officiated by a licensed minister. There will be a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board if you re interested in participating (or witnessing) this unique event. Sunday, June 19, noon to 2:00 Join all our hard working Fathers at the Club for our Smokehouse Barbecue. We re serving barbeque chicken, spare ribs and fried catfish fillets along with tossed salad, pasta salad, potato salad, baked beans and cole slaw. There will also be an assortment of Dad s favorite desserts! $19 for adults, $9 children 5-12. Age 4 and under are free. Please call for reservations. Luau & Pig Roast Saturday, June 25, 6pm We actually roast a pig at the Club the night before. Volunteers to sit with the pig are greatly appreciated, and we smoke that pork all night long! Join your friends for cocktails at 6:00, with a dinner buffet being served at 7:00. Items on the buffet will include mixed green salad with Asian style dressing, pineapple glazed Mahi Mahi, spicy backed black beans, spam fried rice, sweet potato salad, jicama orange salad, jalapeno corn casserole, fresh snap peas, King s Hawaiian Bread, Polynesian ambrosia and other dessert favorites. Enjoy all this for $19 per person. Please call for reservations. Island Attire Welcome Sitting Service will be available for kids & grandkids during the Luau. For $10 per child, IVY will provide a sitter, a kid s meal and entertainment. From 6pm until 10 they will enjoy dinner, a movie, games and fun with other kids. (You must make reservations by Wednesday, June 22nd. If there are no reservations, we will not have a sitter available). Effective June 1st, socks and sweaters are no longer allowed to be worn in the club house. Rule breakers will be forced to purchase one round of drinks per item of banned clothing for everyone in the bar. Do not let this happen to you. We would like to thank all the volunteers that came for Dock Days. The weather was less than ideal, but everyone stepped up and got lots of work done. It is amazing to see what can happen when everyone pitches in. Thank you! Summer brings with it new hours for the club and many activities. If your children or grand children are looking for something to do, sign them up for the swim team. It s a great way for kids to stay active while having a lot of fun. And lastly, An IVY Sailor was racing one Saturday morning when a hand appears out of the water. oh my! exclaimed the skipper, Someone is drowning! No, explained his crew, It s just a little wave. Registration can be at the club or at the Peoria Park District office. In order to get the IVY member discount, you must register at the club. Adult classes will begin June 6th on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays until June 23rd. Youth Classes will begin June 6th on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays until June 23rd. Adults are from 5 to 8pm, while Youth classes are from 1 to 4pm. The registration fees are: Student & Adult Registration Fee - $100 IVY Members - $25 discount per student. Stuffed Animal Sleep Over The Stars of the Evening. Adorable! The stuffed animals had fun reading books on the stairs at the IVY Club! The kids weren t the only ones getting their face painted! Did You Know? Taco Thursdays are now Taco Tuesdays! A full Taco Bar is in the IVY Club Bar every Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30. Tacos are $1.50 each. Now featuring Chicken Tacos! July 4th We re having a silent auction at the club on the 4th of July to raise money for Club entertainment. Are you creative? Do you have a hobby making things? Are you artistic? Cardboard Boat Race for the Alzheimer s Association, Central Illinois Chapter Labor Day, 2016 Anyone can enter a cardboard boat in the race! Individuals, businesses, organizations and clubs can make a boat and paddle it to victory at the great race! Get a group together, come up with a crazy theme and join us for one of the wackiest races on the river! Living Legacy Program provides the means by which members and family can present a monetary gift to The IVY Club in behalf or in honor of a loved one. Examples of Living Legacy gifts are: In celebration of a race won, a goal achieved, etc... In honor of a special day - anniversary, birthday, a grandchild is born, etc... In commemeration of a special event - graduation, wedding, job promotion, etc... Instead of a sweater at Christmas or a new tie for Father s Day. In honor of a loved one. Living Legacy gifts will be used for the continued beautification and enhancement of the club. The gifts will be honored with a permanent display on the Wall of Honor. Each gift over $100 will have an engraved flag plaque on the wall. Larger gifts will have appropriate plaques for $500, $1000, $1500,$2500.
