Cauliflower, Iceberg, Romaine Hearts & Romaine: gaps in supply brought on by the transition from South to North and last week s heavy rains have created mini gaps in supply. Cauliflower is the craziest, with prices spiking at 50% higher than a couple of days ago and slated to go even higher over the weekend; Iceberg and Romaine also are up but not quite so drastically. Onions: new crop out of Mexico and Brawley is having a depressing effect on pricing; Brown Onions are off this week and will continue to get cheaper next week.
