Dear Wine Lover, Marlborough has such a rich offering in wine and beautiful produce, it was an easy decision to dedicate our wine list dominantly to the region. I have the extremely pleasurable task of visiting our local wineries and meeting the wine makers and cellar door staff and being guided through the wine tastings. We invite you to take your time over selecting your wine and savouring your choice. Our knowledgeable team is on hand to assist with extra information in order for you to make your selection, if required. Our house wines are specially bottled and labelled for us by Forrest Estate which is one of our neighbouring wineries. The grapes are gathered from surrounding vineyards, no more than two kilometres away. We are proud to live in such a diverse wine region with such passionate growers; you can almost taste the love in the wine. We pride ourselves on providing the very best of Marlborough wines as they are produced. The flexibility we have allows us to showcase some exceptional vintages and share remarkable stories with you. Nobilo Icon Sauvignon Blanc 2016 54 Flinty minerality and herbal notes with a rich mouth filling palate weight and lifted top notes of passion fruit, citrus zest, and tropical aromas. Folium Reserve 2014 65 The nose is very fine, elegant and detailed with subtle aromas of gooseberries, minerals and a hint of passionfruit. Dry and well-concentrated, this is tight and steely with stylishly presented flavors of steely gooseberries, minerals and herbs. The palate has excellent drive and line, and the fine acidity provides energy and tension. Greywacke Wild Sauvignon 2016 68 An inviting combination of fragrant patisserie-like aromas and fresh herbs the sweet scent of lemon meringue and apricot friand seems to meld with a tarragon-like herbal quality and a hint of smokiness. The palate is succulent and packed with stone fruit and vanilla, finishing crisp and long with a flinty dryness.
Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc 2016 69 Restrained funk and citrus notes with underlying exotic fruits and floral tones. A nutty, solids character from time in old oak barrels on natural lees give palate weight and texture. A full bodied style of Sauvignon Blanc, richly textured, with a dried herbal edge, vibrant acidity and minerality gives the wine focus. Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2016 70 Harvested from two neighbouring blocks, within proximity of the ocean. A vibrant palate of intense passionfruit notes, pink grapefruit, kaffir lime and red currants. Marlborough Rose` White Haven Pinot Noir Rose` 2016 45 Luscious ripe Strawberry & Raspberry flavours on the palate are complemented by a rich texture, full body & mouthwatering acidity. Gibson Bridge Pinot Gris Rose` 2016 55 Vibrant nectarine & passion fruit aromas. Flavours of pear & stone fruit combine in a dry mouth filling creaminess. Marlborough Chardonnay The Darling Chardonnay 2013 48 Elegant and fruit-driven, the classic New Zealand Chardonnay is mouth- filling, with concentrated citrus and tropical fruit. A crisp acidity balances the flavours, which are often perfectly rounded with oak. Saint Clair Pioneer Block 11 Chardonnay 2015 66 The colour is pale gold. The aroma a bouquet of lifted tropical fruit, nashi pear and melon with nuances of oak spice. The palate, full bodied palate with fresh tropical fruit and a hint of toasty oak which finishes with great intensity.
John Forrest Collection Wairau Valley Chardonnay 2011 85 Aromas of lemon, oat biscuit, toffee apple, toasted brioche and freshly ground spice are followed by a sumptuous palate of ripe peach and citrus flavours balanced with a seamless acidity and subtle, nutty oak. Mahi Twin Valley Chardonnay 2015 70 Bright straw-yellow color, lighter on rim. The nose is elegantly proportioned with intense and seamlessly interwoven aromas of white stone fruits and florals, flinty lees and reduction complexities, and minerals, unfolding delicate nuances of citrus fruit, lemon curd MLF and toasty oak hints with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the palate is tightly bound with flavors of white stone fruits, mealy and nutty notes and chalky minerals. Marlborough Aromatic Whites Framingham Classic Riesling 2015 50 An off dry style of Riesling with a rich fruit and a juicy acidity. Giesen The Brother Gewurztraminer 2014 50 Enticing exotic floral note, rose petals, citrus rind and giner. John Forrest Collection Wairau Valley Riesling 2013 65 This engaging wine has aromas of wet stones, fresh lime juice and white peach. The palate is an amazing balance of ripe stone fruits and fresh lemon zest. Gibson Bridge Reserve Pinot Gris 2016 58 Restrained nose showing spice, apple pie and pears. A textural savoury palate providing great balance and softness, giving a beautiful broad and mouth filling experience. John Forrest Collection The White 2009 Marlborough, Hawke s Bay, North Otago 98 Viognier, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer combine to give an intensely flavoured dry wine. Aromas of sugar-dusted candy, red apples and nutmeg. The palate suggests lemon verbena, citrus and apricot combined with an underlying minerality.
Marlborough Pinot Noir Petit Clos (by Clos Henri) Pinot Noir 2016 60 A fine, pure and elegant nose, with hints of smoke, cherry and pepper aromas. A juicy and giving palate of dark fruit and liquorice is balanced by silky texture and generous tannins. A great definition of Pinot Noir from our clay blocks on the estate. Fromm La Strada Pinot Noir 2014 87 A wine of restrained generosity and length. Bright and youthful Pinot, good density, ripe, sweet fruit with plum, cherry and savoury undertones. Complex and harmonious with a layered structure. Villa Maria Single Vineyard Seddon Pinot Noir 2011 88 Ripe cherries, red fruit and enticing floral aromas, it is concentrated and displays deep layers of fruit. Marlborough New Varietal Reds Fromm La Strada Syrah 2014 85 Expressive blue fruit with lifted aromatics and Asian spices of black pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is full and supported by ample ripe fruit. A vibrant Syrah that stays true to the variety rather than leaning on excessive oak. Te Whare Ra Syrah 2015 90 Fragrant with floral notes and black pepper, the palate is savoury with a lingering fruit finish.
