Zumba classes offered twice a week with a certified Zumba instructor in Defiance. The Inspire Me programs at The Hicksville Centers! Free Tax Assistance Our friends from AARP will be available to prepare your simple tax form - FREE OF CHARGE at Defiance County Senior Services - 140 East Broadway in Defiance on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from February 2nd through April 15th. Most individual Federal, State and School District tax returns can be prepared and E-filed. There is no charge, no age limit and an AARP membership is not required. Ask your home delivered meal Driver about our frozen meals and the shelf stable foods. Have foods on hand that can be eaten without heating (just in case of a power outage). Cereal, crackers, granola bars, rice cakes, canned tuna and chicken, nuts and peanut butter - just to name a few. Plan on 1 gallon of water per day per person. Have your prescriptions up to date Call the Senior Center to assist with your transportation and nutrition needs - 419-782-3233. Vegetable Blends for February Meals Cozumel Blend - broccoli, pineapple, sugar snap peas, mango red peppers, asparagus and onions Italian Blend - carrots, cauliflower, zucchini, Italian beans, baby lima beans, red bell peppers Mixed Blend - carrots, corn, green beans, peas and baby lima beans Venetian Blend - broccoli, sugar snap peas, asparagus, red and yellow peppers and onions. Commodities Supplemental Food Program Food for Seniors - Touching Lives, Filling Needs.. Many older adults may be at nutritional risk due to chronic illness, medications, economic status, and mobility issues. The C.S.F.P. Program provides eligible seniors, age 60 and older, a monthly package of approximately 50 pounds of USDA basic nutrient-rich food. YOUR The next distribution date is Wednesday, February 22nd 1:00 pm -2:30 pm If you have questions or to apply for the commodities, contact Ginny at 419-782-3257. The real crisis we face today is a spiritual one, at the root it is a test or moral will and faith Participants may determine for themselves what they are able to contribute toward the cost of a meal. No older adult will be denied a nutrition service due to inability to contribute. Our suggested donation for a lunch is $3.00.
