te trustful item for piping filters Standard conical strainer... protects plant components suc as compressors, pumps, turbines, solenoid valves, measuring instruments etc. from soiling. Te fitting occurs by clamping te conical strainer and two gaskets between a flange pair. Te oncoming-flow goes from te inside to te outside. T type strainer... fulfils te task, to catc solid particle and to protect plant components next in line. As start-up strainers, tey filter residues, like welding beads, welding cinder, swarf etc., wic remain inside te system after te assembly work. For a permanent service, often te wire clot of te strainer needs to be removed. Te incoming flow is vertical top down or orizontal. Y type strainer... is caracterized by a bigger strainer surface. Te free screening surface is 1.5 times to te free pipe cross-section. Tereby it is possible to acieve sligt differential pressure during a clean status. Te completely welded design enables an application in line-systems and piping according to te Druckbeälterverordnung or rater to te TRD- Regelwerk. Te bodies can also be manufactured wit a connecting flange appropriate to DIN EN or ASME. 3 Steam strainer Tese protective strainers wit cylindrical strainer insert are predominantly used in power plants. Te rectangular strainer design enables te integration of tis element instead of a one- quarter bend. Retrofitting during reabilitation, increments or modernizations can easily be accomplised because of te design. Tis strainers basic is te fitting position, te space-saving service scope as well as on a welded construction, wic fulfils all power plant efforts.

Series HS G 300 Conical strainer Standard conical strainers are used as start-up strainers during te commissioning procedure for te protection of pumps and compressors as well as measuring and controlling systems. In te continuous production process, tey serve as "police filters" in order to ensure long-lasting plant protection. Te large filtering surface offers long service life togeter wit minimum pressure drop. Te oncoming flow from te inside toward te outside provides maximum strengt. Construction Te dimension seets specify te standard conical strainers wit suitable fit for DIN EN flanges and ASME flanges. Te pipe or flange internal diameters (for ASME Ø J-dimension) as well as te bolt circle diameter and te contact surfaces or gasket dimensions determine te strainer clamping ring. All flange facing in accordance wit EN 1092-1 and ASME B 16.5 are realised. Te clamping rings are normally not mecanical turned on a late until after te strainer cone as been welded into place; tis guarantees plane-parallel, plain and out-of-wind contact facing. Te geometry of te strainer as a truncated cone is te ideal adaptation to te flow profile inside te pipe. In te centre, te area of maximum flow speed, liquid can flow troug te bottom. Te straining surface is accommodated on an overall lengt tat is as sort as possible. 1.5 times te inside pipe cross-section is defined as te minimum requirement for te filter surface of te KOSSIK standard conical strainers. Te cone angle and te bottom diameter are suited to eac oter so tat te installation in flanged welded fittings wit DIN EN and ASME overall lengts is possible. Materials Flange - Material Perforated Plate - Material Wire Clot - Material Carbon steel Stainless steel P 265 GH (H II) 1.4571 DC01-A (St 12.03) 1.4571 1.4301 or 1.4401 Production Te resistance to medium and temperature is guaranteed by te selection of materials. No non-ferrous metals solder or additive materials are used. KOSSIK standard conical strainers are completely welded. Tin supporting perforated plates as well as te wire clots are overlapped and te longitudinal seams are spot-welded in two rows. Te round seam at te truncated cone bottom, te connecting round seam at te clamping ring and also ticker perforated plate longitudinal seams are GTA-welded. Te fine wire clots are protected in te eat influence zone of te round seams by plate strips wic prevent burning and mainly even temper colours. A 6-8 mm ig collar on te inside of te clamping ring especially protects te fine clot during oncoming flow from te outside. Te conical strainer is centred in te pipe by tis projection and damage due to te flange inner edge is terefore prevented during regular operation and during te assembly work. Perforated plates are punced up to a tickness of 4 mm; beyond tat size, drilled oles are used. All conical strainers are provided wit an identification lug. Tis lug sticks out over te flange edge and indicates te installation location. Materials, eat numbers, fabrication batc, items, NPS and pressure rates are stamped. KOSSIK conical strainers are terefore clearly identifiable and te documentation wit acceptance inspection certificates in accordance wit EN 10204 is possible. 4

Series HS G 301 Conical Strainer Design In accordance wit te plant component to be protected, te critical particle size is defined and te suitable strainer mes size is selected from a large number of wire clots mostly kept in stock. Since a clot alone possesses only minimum stability, a perforated plate is used as a support. Te flowing-troug of liquid troug te filtering surface and support structure causes te pressure loss. Te pressure loss of te strainer is calculated individually for te volume flow according to te effective working data in a pipeline. KOSSIK dimensions te strainers wit computer-supported design on te principle of te orifice calculation. Using eac of te flow speeds in te calculation cross-section, we ten determine: Te trottling effect troug te area of te cross-section reduction as opening ratio at te clamping ring. Te resistance from te relative free space area of te perforated plate / clot combination of te cone jacket. Te loss due to te sape of te strainer bottom as a combination of te flow in te ring space around te bottom and te sape resistance wen liquid flows troug or around te strainer end plate. Tese figures are ten used to determine te drag coefficient per nominal pipe size, pressure rate and fineness. Bursting safety As proof of te bursting safety, a strengt calculation is carried out for te supporting structure at te sell, te bottom and for te clamping ring. Based on te fundamentals of te AD Merkblatt and te TRD, te perforated plate is calculated as a pressure loaded wall wit non-reinforced round cut-outs acting on eac oter. For eac strainer detail, te calculation is applied according to te position in eac instance as conical sell, as level bottom or at te clamping ring as bending torque. Te expert's inspection of te strengt design, preliminary inspection of te construction and a design inspection and acceptance inspection including te material documentation is possible. Extra equipment features and special sapes are available in diverse versions. Opposite installation position of te strainers wit oncoming flow from te outside is available. Wit respect to te maintenance of strengt, calculatory proof and, in some cases, additional reinforcement may be required. Conical strainers wit drainage intermediate layer clot provide improved flow distribution in micro-clots on coarse supporting perforated plates and offer reduced pressure loss are especially suitable for use in permanent operation. External protective wire clot wit coarse mes size and sturdy wires protective te micro-clot from destruction due to flutter and stabilise in case of return flow. Pointed cone strainers provide te igest bursting safety and larger filtration surface. Flat Pointed cone strainers and disc strainers offer te sortest installation lengts. Double cone strainers are manufactured wit larger filtering surfaces togeter wit te sortest overall lengts. Special materials, e.g. low-temperature steels, eat-resistant steels as well as 1.4539, Hastelloy and Monel can be supplied. Note! Prevent oncoming flow from te outside toward te inside wenever possible. Oterwise, te operating safety will be put at risk as a result. Te permissible maximum pressure loss due to te elastic bulging and plastic deformation is minimal. 5

Series T G010 T type strainer T type strainers of te series T serve te protection of plant components, especially pumps and compressors, measuring and controlling instruments. As start-up strainers, tey filter assembly work soiling wen te plant is put into service. Teir main task, owever, is performed in continuous operation as straining protection against process-specific solid material impairment and against corrosion products. Standard T-strainers are filters in te vestment of pipeline parts. Construction An equal T-piece serves as te ousing basic body. Te standard version is te seamless T-piece in compliance wit DIN 2615 and ASME B 16.9. In accordance wit te requirements from pipe classes, welded types of construction wit identical dimensions are also used. Te round steel guide rails for te strainer insert are welded into te branc piece and te welding neck flange for te service opening is attaced. Te strainer insert can be dismantled in order to be replaced or cleaned or can also discarded following te commissioning procedure. Te service blind flange closes off te ousing. KOSSIK protective strainers combine te strainer insert and ousing individually and terefore guarantee bypass-free, efficient filtration. Te wall tickness offset and te forming tolerances of te T basic body are evened out by means of build-up welding and te guide profiles welded sealed-tigt. Resilient contact pressure of te strainer insert in te round bar rails and a turned end plate, wic sits wit precise fit in te flange internal diameter, support te efficient and safe operating function. It is generally our basis to ensure tat no air gap sows greater tolerances tan te open strainer mes size. Design Te selection of te suitable wire clot is carried out according to te particle size from wic te down-stream plant components are to be protected. Tis straining clot is supported by a perforated plate and te combination of bot parts is encased in flat iron frame. Te strainer insert is closed off by an end plate made of seet metal. As filtering surface, te area in te entire branc is used, wic evenly distributes te flow in tis cross-section and terefore provides a more advantageous drag coefficient of = 3-5. Operating pressure losses in clean state and 50% soiled as well as te strengt calculation, te bursting safety are determined according to te specification of te working data of Kossik on a computer supported basis. Series Y G 020 Y type strainers Y type strainers of te series Y refer to te welded models of te well-known Y-type dirt traps of casting material. Tey serve te general protection of plant components against soiling and combine te positive caracteristics of te Y-seat design wit te advantages of te welded construction. Space-saving strainer installation, optimum emptying and rinsing operations even wit vertical installation are te advantages of tis form of construction. Identical materials, wall ticknesses and identical limits of use, delivery and acceptance conditions as well as te connecting pipe are considered to be te advantages of tis welded construction. Construction A branc is welded into a base pipe at an angle of 60. Tis Y-branc pipe union ten receives te strainer insert in round profile guide rails. As a standard equipment feature, seamless pipes are used for te ousing. Around te cut out weakening section, te pipe-saped and disc-saped reinforcement in te jointly carrying area is built up by means of a ticker pipe wall plate. Troug te flange / blind flange service opening at te branc, te strainer is inserted and can be dismantled and cleaned as well. Proper fitting of te insert in te ousing is, as wit te T-strainer, te essential design and manufacturing detail. Kossik protective strainers combine te strainer insert and ousing individually and terefore guarantee bypassfree, efficient filtration. Te manufacturing tolerances, te edge offset in te area of te cut out reinforcement and various strainer insert lengts are compensated by te guide profiles. Te round bars are welded sealed-tigt on te circumference. Resilient contact pressure of te strainer insert and a precisely fitting turned end plate completely seal off along te circumference. Kossik guarantees tat tere is no air gap greater tan te straining mes size. Design Te perforated-plate-supported filtering strainer is equipped wit wire clot in te required mes size. Te strainer insert is encased in a flat iron frame and closes off wit a turned end plate made of seet metal. Te filtering surface is positioned at an angle of inclination of 120 to te main flow axis. Related to te large screening surface almost twice te surface of te T-strainer te discarge of soiled material into te branc, results in a very advantageous pressure loss during continuous operation. An extremely advantageous service life is acieved due to te constant free-rinsing of te main flow zone, due to te large dirt collection volume in te long branc and due to te large filter surface. For DN > 125, tis Y-strainer is te low-cost alternative to te Y- type dirt trap for casting material. Especially te pipeline-identical materials, te wall ticknesses as well as te same delivery and acceptance inspection conditions, as on te following pipe, are an important advantage. Construction Te branc is welded into te base pipe at an angle of 45. Te conical strainer insert is ten fitted in tis pipe union. Te use of seamless pipes, te calculation in te cut out zone and te service opening wit flange / blind flange is defined as a standard equipment feature in te dimension seets. Te turned seat of te strainer in te mounting plate, te resilient contact pressure of te insert and te completely welded version wit filter wire clot and supporting perforated plate guarantee te ig level of operating safety. Te overall lengt of te fittings in accordance wit DIN 3202 Part 1 straigt wit flanged ends series F1 and wit welded end in accordance wit Part 2 series S7 is te dimensional basis for tese Y-strainers. Design For optimum utilisation of te large filter surface and usage of te ig strengt of te strainer, tese strainers sould be designed on an individual basis. Te strainer cone insert possesses a freely flow-troug screening surface tat is always larger tan 3 times te connecting pipe cross-section. Tis can be used, e.g. to optimise a compressor on te suction side wit minimum pressure losses. Performance reserves can also be maintained in te event of a feared large accumulation of dirt. Guaranteed filtering rates wit fineness values of less tan 200 µm can be acieved due to te perfectly fitting turned seat of te filtering insert. In addition, te round sape of te strainer provides ig strengt and terefore ig permissible maximum differential pressure. According to te specification of te operating parameters, Kossik calculates on a computer-supported basis te pressure drops at te clean strainer and at 50% soiling as well as te permissible maximum bursting pressure wit respect to strengt. Series E G 040 Steam strainer Steam Strainer in Water-Steam Circuit Tese protective strainers wit cylindrical strainer insert are mainly used in power stations. Te design allows it to be planned for use in a line instead of a 90 -elbow. Even te retrofitting work in case of power station reconstruction, extensions or modernisation is easily carried out wit tis model. Te installation position, te space-saving service room as well as a welded construction tat meets all power station requirements is te basis of tis version. Construction, strengt calculation, certificate documentation, te welding qualification and te expert non-destructive inspections and acceptance tests are part of te Kossik range of services. Construction A cylindrical strainer is inserted in a ousing consisting of a T-piece wit reduced branc, a concentric reduction piece and a flange / blind flange service opening. Due to te axial inlet side, te oncoming impulse onto te straining surface is prevented. Medium flows evenly troug te straining surface witout any cross-section narrowing in te ring space or during te curve-flow operation. Te strainer can be optimally sealed, fitted in from cover side, and maintain te desired separating rate witout any gaps. Manufacturing tolerances of te butt-weldfittings are compensated by cip-removal macining and individual adaptation of te strainer to te ousing. Ideally, te strengt requirements, i.e. te operating safety of te strainer cylinder can be proved and increased as required. A free screening surface, 5 times larger tan te cross-section of te inlet pipe union, offers minimum pressure loss togeter wit ig bursting safety at te strainer. Te simple structure of te ousing, combined simply from standard fittings and flanges, is dependable, reliable and witout any malfunction-conducive details. Robust, wit a ig degree of availability, an efficient form of filtration in te steam and condensate flow is guaranteed. Design Low pressure drop, long service life, ig availability and a sturdy construction for te operating conditions in power stations are te reference data of tis design. No expensive flow guidance is required inside te ousing. An empasis is placed on te importance of a simplified design principle wit minimum resistance values. Even at ig flow speeds, tis model guarantees minimum pressure loss in te clean state and terefore long service live until soiled. Te fine strainer clot of te required mes size is supported by a perforated plate. It can be supplemented wit a drainage intermediate clot for flow improvement and is often protected wit a protective clot cover. Tis type of internal clot protection prevents "fluttering" or crack formation by te collision wit large parts. Te supporting plate is tested wit respect to establising proof of bursting safety in accordance wit calculation regulations of TRD 301 and AD Merkblatt. As a cylindrical sell subjected to internal over-pressure wit weakening effect due to reciprocally influencing cut-outs, te strainer is calculated and an inspection-suitable proof of strengt record updated accordingly. For tese strainers, te standard value according to te dimension tables only refers to te design sape and te connection geometry. Te ig requirements specified for te operating safety and te reduction of costs almost always result in an individual design for tese strainers. 21

Welded Fittings F100 Special - Design If te standard fittings do not meet te fluidic requirements or werever constructional conditions do not permit teir being used, welded special fittings are planned for use in te pipelines. Y-brances, lateral elbow brances, breeces pipes and cross pieces serve te improvement of flow and permit optimised line guidance systems. Te production of tese fittings made piping during assembly at te construction site is gladly avoided. Material wit increased wall tickness is required, an expensive arrangement of te welding edge preparation and te welding in forced position as well as an increased testing expenditure are easier to realise in specialised welding company. Te production of tese special fittings in te worksop optimises te assembly work, promotes te quality standard and reduces te time factor at te construction site considerably. Construction Te KOSSIK dimension seets for te series F sow, as a plant standard, a selection of special designed fittings wit standardised dimensions. Basic pipe and leg lengts, nominal widts and angles of te brances, radiuses and wall ticknesses represent only a general selection. Generally, tese are dimension recommendations for te planning pase. Tey refer to minimum dimensions wic are supplemented by te requirements of te spatial arrangement. In addition, te process data, te pressure rate and materials mostly ave an effect on te construction in te form of a pipe class specification. Te dimensions are combined from te nominal widts for seamless and welded pipes and elbows in accordance wit DIN EN and ASME standards. Production drawings and EDP-supported calculations are prepared in accordance wit AD Merkblatt, TRD 301 or also according to foreign regulations. Te minimum lengt at te basic pipe and at te brances are calculated from te jointly carrying lengts for te pipe-saped reinforcement plus te wall tickness reduction below 15 onto te connection dimension and te welded Te main dimensions are specified wit te minimum dimensions in te tables; te wall ticknesses are mentioned in te dimension tables. s A = wall tickness in te reinforcement zone around te cut-out s = connection pipe wall tickness, order wall tickness Production Standardised dimension groups as sown in te KOSSIK dimension seets of te series F make teir use easier for te engineer during te planning pase. Te prefabrication guarantees sensible assembly at te construction site. Te wall tickness, diameter and connection wit welded joint according standards are made suitably fitting te assembly dimensions. Te fittings are welded togeter from input material, wit guaranteed properties according to official regulations, certified in accordance wit EN 10204. Te constant monitoring of production operations by non-destructive tests does not replace a leak test, but since a system pressure test is carried out on an obligatory base after te piece as been welded into te pipeline, te more expensive water pressure test is performed on te special fitting only upon special request. Edge zone ultrasonic tests and te searc for cracks by means of te magnetic powder test or te dye penetration test are tests performed by te plant-independent expert tat are recorded in reports and contribute to te quality documentation. Even during te production pase, for example, a dimensional ceck is carried out on te welding seam preparation. A surface crack inspection of te root weld is carried out upon request. Te component inspection consisting of te dimensional ceck and inspection wit respect to drawingjustified version forms te final stage as prototype test prior to delivery. Documentation Te production drawing, mainly true-to-scale as a CAD drawing, connected wit parts lists, design data and welding details, forms te basis. Togeter wit te calculation, te material products from te input material, te reports on non-destructive testing during and after te production operations and te construction and pressure sample paper, tis forms te documentation. Depending on te requirement in eac instance, tis can ten serve as an acceptance certificate togeter wit te TÜV or oter testing institute. Extra equipment Testing and measuring pipe nozzles, emptying and air-removal devices as welded-in pipe unions must be included in te worksop production process on a low-cost basis. Consoles, raised pads or saddle mountings must also be carried out inexpensively as worksop welding jobs and make a special saped piece into an assembly-friendly unit. Generally, all combinations wit standard fittings on te connection or wit connecting flanges can be manufactured. We deliver rigt up to prefabricated pipelines according to isometric drawings. 36
