Christmas Fair - ONE MORE SLEEP! The excitement is mounting, preparations are finalised, artwork is being hung, food is cooking, rides are on the way, musicians are practising and we are set to go. The final check of the check list Cakes and Baking Please drop off your baking for the cake stall to the Senior Learning Centre between 8:30am and 11:30am and if you can, stay for a while to help wrap. Remember to label all containers so they can be returned to classrooms. Raffle Raffle tickets are on sale at the Information Booths until 7pm on Fair night and the prizes are on display in the Senior Learning Centre. If you haven t already done so, please hand in your tickets to the office or to an organiser at either Information Booth. Wrist bands Wrist bands and food tokens go home today. Please check your order is correct and contact the office with any queries, or head to the Information Booth on the oval. Important Stuff Hold the pineapples We love your cash, especially in small bills! If you can stock up on small notes especially the fivers, blue heelers and lobsters it helps us keep the change stocked up. Our mobile ATM is on the oval again this year in case you need to restock the wallet. EFTPOS is available at the Senior Learning Centre (office) and at a number of stalls on the night. Information Booth Wrist bands and raffle tickets are on sale at the Information Booths set up on the Oval and at the Senior Learning Centre. First Aid We have First Aid officers rostered for the night and a First Aid station set up at the Senior Learning Centre. If there is an incident, grab an organiser, teacher, Peter Crossett or Peter Walsh for assistance. Phone numbers for the First Aid officers will be posted at the First Aid room. Raffle TOMORROW Raffle ticket sales close at 7pm and Denis Walter will announce the winners on stage at 7:15 pm. Please buy your raffle tickets early. Volunteer duty Thanks everyone for volunteering to help on the night. If you are rostered on for food duty, please check in with Michelle when you arrive. There is a hand wash station for you to use, gloves and safety equipment and each service area has printed instructions to follow. You may be allocated to a different food service area, depending on number of volunteers on duty and where the lines are greatest. Have a great night and thanks again.

Christmas Fair update.. Continued Spread the word Please help us promote the Fair so we can attract a huge crowd to come along and have a great night. This is a major fundraiser for the school, so the more the merrier! We suggest you tell families and friends to enter via Camden Road and to be there by 4pm to welcome Santa. The Grade 56s will provide a warm welcome and collect gold coin donations. On the Night - Food and drinks Eat Street Head to Eat Street on the oval and grab yourself dinner. The menu includes home-made curry, gourmet BBQ, sushi, nachos, hot dogs, baked potatoes, South Melbourne dim sims, popcorn and snow cones. The team at the Juice Stand are serving tea and coffee as well as freshly squeezed orange juice and if you re looking for dessert, head to the chocolate fountain next door to the juice stand. Please remind kids to use their food tokens by 6pm. Tokens can be used after 6pm, but there is no guarantee the ordered food will be available, therefore a different selection may be offered Irish Bar Your hosts this year, Fran and Noreen, welcome you to enjoy Irish hospitality and celebrate Christmas in the Irish Bar. The ladies are serving wine, beer and soft drinks and of course Guinness. Enjoy a drink with friends and make sure you buy a ticket for the Irish Bar Raffle for a Taste of Ireland Hamper of goodies. The usual restrictions apply to this area over 18 s only and consume all drinks in the fenced off area. The bar is also an excellent place to enjoy the entertainment on stage. Hydration Station Barwon Water are lending us their Hydration Station for the night. We ll set it up near the rides, so the kids have quick access to water, especially after a session on the jumping castles. Drinks As well as freshly squeezed orange juice, drinks are on sale at Eat Street and students will roam with a cart of drinks to sell. Tea and coffee is available from the Juice Stand. What s On The Fyans Park 2017 Art Show @ the SENIOR LEARNING CENTRE Enjoy the amazing work of our creative, imaginative and inspired Fyans Park artists. The kids have worked hard with Mrs Thomson to provide two artworks each one framed work and one sculpture or 3D object. All artworks are for sale. Check out the latest in crime-fighting gear with the Victoria Police and take your turn at the wheel of a Police Car.

Christmas Fair update.. Continued What s on at the Oval As well as the rides, you will find plenty of fun things to do on the oval. Check out the animals, get your face painted and hair spray painted then build a tool box or Christmas Tree with the Leopold Men s Shed. Show bags, lucky dips and lollies are on sale and the Grade 34s are running carnival games. For only $2 you can play mini-golf and giant Jenga. Grab your buddies and head to the Wooshka photo booth for a Christmas Fair photo then head over to Santa for a selfie. The Christmas Elf is happy to take a group shot with your camera. Lucky Cups go on sale at 5pm, so keep an eye out on the time to make sure you don t miss out. Check out the latest in crime-fighting gear with the Victoria Police and take your turn at the wheel of a Police Car. On stage We have a great line up of entertainment for the night featuring our buskers, school Choir, Hip Cats, Jacqui Newland and Nath, Parent Brass Quintet, Denis Walter and finishing the night is DJ Ben. Santa s Coming Santa kicks off Christmas at Fyans Park with a flying visit to the Christmas Fair. Hang out at the stage at 4:15 for Santa s arrival and take a selfie with Santa on the oval. The Christmas Elf is happy to snap a group shot. What s on at the Senior Learning Centre There s lots happening up at the SLC, so make sure you make your way up the hill. Here s a quick overview Cake Stall stock up on some home baked goodies Preserves don t miss this great selection of homemade preserves, sauces and lemon butter. This year as well as our home-made goodies, we are selling stock provided by Penny Royal Farm Otway Preserves. With the warmer weather you may wish to BYO cooler bag for your purchases. I Once Was this talented team of makers has expanded this year and have some fabulous items on sale to kick start your Christmas shopping Gardening Stall a great selection of plants ready for you to enjoy generously donated by past student and now owner of Boomaroo Nursery in Lara Book stall stock up on your summer reading at Mrs McArthur s second-hand book stall and grab some board games and puzzles to keep the kids entertained during the holidays Santa s Wonderland join us for some Christmas crafting, this is a great activity for the little kids Tasty tomatoes this is the year to grow your own tomatoes. Mr Calnin and the Grade 3/4s have grown an impressive range of plants using heritage seeds from the Diggers Club. The varieties to choose from include, Tigerella, Tommy Toe, Periforme Abruzzese, Beams Yellow Pear, Blue Berries, Purple Russian, Red Fig and the Mortgage Lifter. Bye for now and see you at the Fair!
