Amateur Wine Training Series Syllabus *The program begins with a winery visit to witness the wine making process Basic Series 1 Basic knowledge of wine Basic Series 2 Wine Tasting Unit purpose The purpose of this unit is to assess candidate knowledge and understanding of wine production and give a short brief on wine history. An understanding of the process of the grape growing, the grape structure, major grape varieties, the harvest, the making of wine and the different categories of wine, label information in the bottle are discussed.
