Our experience dates back to 1993, when Roland Smidt established the renowned Town & Country Cuisine. From its inception, the company grew from strength to strength to become the most recognized and celebrated catering company in South Africa. In 2007 Town & Country was sold to the Compass Group SA. In 2010 Roland Smidt joined forces with former Executive Head Chef, Vincent Verrydt, to launch the much-anticipated Culinary Entertainment Company In 2014, The Culinary Co. has grown to not only include top quality turnkey catering solutions for up-market functions in both the corporate and private sector, but also boasts a canteen, a venue and a restaurant as part of their portfolio.

TEAM Core Team ROLAND SMIDT OWNER Roland Smidt has been in the Catering and Entertainment Management Business for more than 30 years. Establishing the very successful Town and Country Cuisine and running it for more than 15 years, the business was subsequently sold in 2008 as a profitable concern. Due to the continued demand for top-quality Catering in South Africa and being inundated with requests, Roland and Vincent Verrydt, set up The Culinary Entertainment Company in 2010. Roland s extensive work experience covers large functions; Club Management, Suite Catering; Hotel Management and venue management and his relationship with our clients are second to none. VINCENT VERRYDT OWNER Vincent Verrydt is a well-known and highly respected Chef and has built a successful and celebrated career that encompasses the finest quality food and attention to detail. Vincent s training began at the Three Cities Hotel School and the American Hotel & Motel School. He achieved Top Honors as The Food & Beverage Student of the Year in conjunction with The Southern Sun s Group. With a multitude of International experience in Belgium and London, Vincent has also worked in many highly regarded South African Establishments. In 2002, Vincent decided to focus solely on food and took up the position of Executive Chef at Town & Country Cuisine owned by Roland Smidt. This pairing was to be a formidable union that has led to Vincent being co-owner of The Culinary Company. LIESA HICKLING BOOK KEEPER AND HR Liesa Hickling has worked with Roland and Vincent since 1999 at Town and Country Cuisine and has become an integral member of The Culinary Company since its 2010 inception. Her knowledge Finance expertise allow her to make strategic decisions, do costings and capital restructure and Empowerment. Liesa is heavily involved in all financial decisions.
