Featured Dessert Recipe Cinnamon Dolce Bon Bons Bring these bite-size delights to your next gathering! Flavored with hazelnut coffee, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Makes 40 mini-cupcakes Combine the following ingredients in a medium sized bowl, then transfer to a gallon freezer bag: 1 package Fudge Brownie Mix, family size 1/3 cup water 1/3 cup vegetable oil 2 eggs 1 Tablespoon Hazelnut flavored instant coffee 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg Place (40) 1¾ inch cupcake liners in a quart size freezer bag. Step 3: Place the following ingredients into a large mixing bowl, mix well with mixer, then transfer to quart size freezer bag. 8 ounces softened cream cheese 1/4 cup butter Add the following to the cream cheese and butter, while continuing to blend with mixer: 1 ½ cups powdered sugar (add 1/2 cup at a time) ½ teaspoon vanilla Step 4: Place all bags in a second gallon size freezer bag. Label and Freeze Assembly Note: Wash Strawberries beforehand so they have time to dry. Set cream cheese out a few hours before assembling so it is soft. You will also need a hand mixer. The following desserts are in *Strawberry Pizza *Coco-Peanut Butter Bars, *Creamy Pumpkin Pie with a Crushed Walnut Graham Cracker Crust Transport Tip: Sprinkle each bon bon with a little cinnamon and display on a dessert tray or carefully place them back in your cupcake pan after decorating and lay them out on a tray when you arrive at your destination. We prefer to keep these chilled until 1 hr. before serving. Defrost in refrigerator. Place 2 inch foil cupcake liners on a cookie sheet. Fill with 1 Tablespoon Brownie mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 min. or until wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Featured Appetizer Recipe Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts Need to bring an appetizer or have one on hand? Better make a double batch as they will disappear quickly! Everyone seems to LOVE them! Makes approx. 45 appetizers Place the following ingredients into a quart size freezer bag: 1 cup brown sugar 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 Tablespoons ground dry mustard 3 Tablespoons butter 2 Tablespoons Ketchup Place 10 ounces (2, 5-ounce cans) of whole water chestnuts (un-opened) and 45 toothpicks (2 for each slice of bacon), placed in snack size bag, in your pantry. Step 3: Place quart size bag with sauce and 1-pound package of center cut bacon into a gallon size freezer bag. Label and freeze. (or assemble and serve right away) The following appetizers are in * Herbed Feta & Asparagus Spread *World s Best Cheese Ball Assemble your chestnuts: Defrost bacon and sauce in refrigerator. Drain chestnuts (2, 5-ounce cans). Cut bacon slices in half and wrap each around chestnuts and secure with a toothpick. Place on a baking tray and bake at 375 degrees for approx. 45 minutes or until bacon reaches desired crispiness. (*Drain off bacon grease 1/2 way through cooking time.) In the meantime, place sauce from quart size bag into a sauce pan, and cook on medium until hot. Do not let boil. Remove from heat as it starts to just bubble. Remove chestnuts from baking dish and place onto a serving platter. Pour sauce over chestnuts and serve! Transport Tip: When you arrive, you ll simply want to heat up your chestnuts and sauce for approx 45 seconds in the microwave, then place the chestnuts on your serving tray and pour the sauce over the top of them! Featured Side Dish Recipe Homemade Cranberry Sauce Combine the following ingredients in a gallon size freezer bag: 4 cups frozen cranberries 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 cup water 1 orange, peeled and chopped fine 1/4 tsp. ground cloves Combine the following ingredients in a quart size bag: 1/2 cup crushed pineapple, drained 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon Place both bags into a second gallon size freezer bag. Label and freeze. (or assemble and serve right away) Amazingly delicious and easy to transport if needed! You will never eat canned cranberries again! Try this homemade version using fresh cranberries, crushed pineapple, walnuts, cinnamon, and more. It is amazing and fills the house with a wonderful aroma! Serves 8 The following side dishes are in * Caesar Pasta Salad with Croutons *Crock Pot French Onion Mashed Potatoes Bring cranberry mixture to a boil in a medium size saucepan. Simmer, stirring frequently, until berries pop open. Add pineapple mixture and blend. Cool and serve. Transport Tip: This cranberry sauce is amazing warm or cold! Featured Drop In Coffee Date Recipe Amaretto & Pear Puff Pastry Mix the following ingredients in a small bowl: 8 ounces softened cream cheese 1/4 cup powdered sugar 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 2 Tablespoons Amaretto liqueur Core, peel, and slice one pear into even slices, about 1/4 inch thick. Measure out 1/2 cup frozen cherries. Pears, cherries, and spiced amaretto cream cheese all wrapped in a delicate puffed pastry. Absolutely delicious! Perfect recipe to have pre-assembled for those last minute coffee dates! Assembly Note: You can substitute 2 cans of pear halves in place of the fresh pears. Step 3: Defrost puff pastry sheets and lay flat on a clean surface, making sure dough stays chilled. Divide cream cheese mixture evenly between the two sheets of puff pastry; spread to make a circle in the middle of the pastry, avoiding the edges. Lay pear slices on cream cheese mixture to make a circle in the middle. Divide cherries evenly between the two tarts, placing them on top of the pears. Fold up the edges of the pastry, leaving an opening in the middle. The tarts should have a circle shape and don't need to look perfect. Wrap both tarts in aluminum foil and place in a gallon size freezer bag. Label and freeze. (or assemble and serve right away) The following desserts are in * Banana Bread *Pumpkin Bread with Caramelized Pecan Topping Defrost in refrigerator and cook immediately. Don't let pastries sit in fridge too long or they will absorb too much moisture. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes. Serving Suggestion: Serve with Hot Coffee / Tea and add a dollop of fresh whipping cream or a drizzle of glaze. Featured Drop In Brunch Date Recipe Smoked Turkey Quiche with Broccoli Gruyere Start your day with this delicious quiche. Made with smoked turkey, broccoli, and gruyere cheese in a flaky pie crust. We love keeping this one on hand for those drop in brunch dates or a special Sunday morning treat! Serves 6 Assembly Note: Prepare the broccoli ahead of time by steaming for approximately 4-5 minutes on the stove or just a couple of minutes in a microwave steamer dish. You will want the broccoli slightly softened but still pretty firm. Do not cook until tender. Combine the following ingredients in a quart size freezer bag: 3/4 cup broccoli, chopped finely 1/4 cup onion, frozen, chopped 1 cup smoked turkey, chopped 1/2 cup gruyere, shredded 4 eggs, slightly beaten 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon curry powder 1 Tablespoon butter, softened 1 cup half and half Place one 9" pie shell with each order to be placed in the freezer. Label and freeze. (or assemble and serve right away) The following desserts are in * Dutch Babies with Caramelized Pear *Crock Pot Oatmeal Defrost in the refrigerator. Empty contents of bag into pie crust. Cover pie crust with foil. Bake at 425 degrees for approx. 45 minutes or until knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Sun dried tomatoes, herbs, chicken, garlic, and of course tortellini. There is something for everyone which makes this a perfect meal to have on hand for an unexpected dinner occasion but is also a great staple year round! Serves 4-6 Assembly Note: Keep tortellini frozen. Combine the following ingredients in a gallon size freezer bag: 3 chicken breasts, cut into bite size pieces 2 cups (16 ounces) frozen, sliced, mixed bell peppers 1 cup frozen chopped onions 1 Tablespoon minced garlic 2 Tablespoons olive oil 3 Tablespoons sun-dried tomatoes, drained and diced Combine the following ingredients in a gallon size freezer bag: 9 ounces frozen tortellini (or 2 1/4 cups if bought in bulk) 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes 2 teaspoons dried oregano 2 teaspoons dried basil 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper 29 ounces Italian style stewed tomatoes (un-drained) 3 1/2 cups chicken stock (28 ounces) Step 3: Place both bags into a 2 gallon size freezer bag. Label and freeze. (or assemble and serve right away) The following desserts are in * White Chicken chili *Crock Pot Swiss Steak Defrost in refrigerator. Pour the chicken and peppers mixture into a large skillet. Cook for approximately 20 minutes, until chicken is no longer pink and the vegetables are soft. Add the contents of the remaining bag and cook for 7-10 minutes, or until the pasta is tender (don't overcook the tortellini.) Serving Suggestion: Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and serve with garlic bread. For a Vegetarian option, leave out the chicken.
