Featured Drop In Coffee Date Recipe Amaretto & Pear Puff Pastry Mix the following ingredients in a small bowl: 8 ounces softened cream cheese 1/4 cup powdered sugar 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 2 Tablespoons Amaretto liqueur Core, peel, and slice one pear into even slices, about 1/4 inch thick. Measure out 1/2 cup frozen cherries. Pears, cherries, and spiced amaretto cream cheese all wrapped in a delicate puffed pastry. Absolutely delicious! Perfect recipe to have pre-assembled for those last minute coffee dates! Assembly Note: You can substitute 2 cans of pear halves in place of the fresh pears. Step 3: Defrost puff pastry sheets and lay flat on a clean surface, making sure dough stays chilled. Divide cream cheese mixture evenly between the two sheets of puff pastry; spread to make a circle in the middle of the pastry, avoiding the edges. Lay pear slices on cream cheese mixture to make a circle in the middle. Divide cherries evenly between the two tarts, placing them on top of the pears. Fold up the edges of the pastry, leaving an opening in the middle. The tarts should have a circle shape and don't need to look perfect. Wrap both tarts in aluminum foil and place in a gallon size freezer bag. Label and freeze. (or assemble and serve right away) The following desserts are in * Banana Bread *Pumpkin Bread with Caramelized Pecan Topping Defrost in refrigerator and cook immediately. Don't let pastries sit in fridge too long or they will absorb too much moisture. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes. Serving Suggestion: Serve with Hot Coffee / Tea and add a dollop of fresh whipping cream or a drizzle of glaze. This recipe will make 2 pastries; each one will feed 2 people. www.elfyourself.com Our kids have enjoyed this fun Christmas link as well!
