story time! Frankie's Dream Frankie the puppy loved lazy afternoon naps. He snuggled down in his favourite corner of the yard and shut his eyes. The sunshine felt very nice and warm, shining down from the sky. Frankie drifted off to sleep. Suddenly, everything changed! The grass in his cozy corner turned blue, and the sky was green! Birds were flying upside down, and to Frankie's astonishment, a big lake had appeared beside him. Then Frankie spotted a sneaky Sea Gremlin who was swimming away with Frankie's best friend, Miranda the kitten! Frankie sat up in a hurry! Miranda did not like water, and she must be very scared! Looking around, Frankie tried to think of some way to catch the Gremlin, who was swimming out to middle of the lake at top speed! Frankie could only doggy paddle, and he didn't think he'd catch up! Then Frankie spotted a boat." Hurray!" he barked happily. He rushed over to it, and hopped in. As the boat began to move, Frankie noticed that it wasn't an ordinary boat. It was made out of meatloaf! What was a meatloaf boat doing in Frankie's yard? And more importantly, could it catch the Sea Gremlin? Frankie sure hoped it was a speedy meatloaf boat, because Miranda needed rescuing! The boat began to move very slowly. 'Oh dear!' thought Frankie, as the Sea Gremlin swam further and further away. 'I'm not going to catch him!' Frankie looked around franticly for some paddles or a sail. He spotted something green in the front of the boat and pulled it out. It was a cucumber sail! 'A cucumber sail?!' Frankie barked. Oh dear. But it was all Frankie had, so he raised the sail up, up, up, into the funny green sky! At once, the meatloaf boat shot forward, as if it had a super power motor! Frankie grabbed on to the side of the boat so he wouldn't fly out. His ears whipped backwards in the wind as the boat rocketed across the lake!
The Sea Gremlin looked back, and his eyes opened huge in alarm as he saw Captain Frankie zooming towards him on his super speedy meatloaf boat with the cucumber sail! No sailboat had ever moved as fast as that one did! Frankie caught up to the Sea Gremlin, and he scowled down at him. 'You give Miranda to me!' he barked. The Sea Gremlin looked like he would refuse, but Frankie picked up the cucumber sail and held it out over the water. Miranda hopped onto the sail, and Frankie quickly helped her into the meatloaf boat. The Sea Gremlin slunk away, down under the water. ' Thank you, Frankie!' Miranda meowed, and gave him a high five! Frankie beamed. 'Thanks to this super speedy meatloaf boat and cucumber sail, it was a breeze!' he told her. Then a bird chirped overhead, and Frankie woke up. It had all been a dream! Frankie laughed and laughed! Then he went to tell Miranda all about it.
