But, did you know that about 50% of all fl oral containers used are glass vases! I have been planning to carry a glassware line for years for this very reason. It was not working out until just a few weeks ago. I have been working closely with CTC Supply, Inc., a Chinese glassware manufacturer based in California. We can now introduce a glassware line to you with confi dence that we have a good quality line with very competitive prices. In fact, the AAA Imports sales team had a training course (see below) last Saturday. We learned all about glassware in the fl oral industry. Our fi rst shipment of glassware products arrived last week. AAA Imports is ready to supply you with the glassware now! I understand that the majority of our wholesale friends deal with hundreds of retail fl ower shops every day. I believe that we have another business opportunity to you. With our discount structure, you can sell our glassware to the fl ower shops that you deal with and make an extra 30-40%.. why not?!? Please call your sales rep in AAA Imports with your order or questions. Let us work together to increase our sales! AAA Im ports, Inc. 407-884-0078 April 2005 Page 2 Planter of the Month: Factory Irregulars Sale Ends April 30th 25% Off Wholesale This month's special is a little unusual because we are featuring Factory Irregulars of the Imperial Carved Porcelain Collection. This was our newest design challenge for 2005. Unfortunately, the process produced an inconsistent background around the carved design. The background glaze coalesced near the design elements with a streaky appearance. Don't worry - the porcelain planters are still quite attractive. AAA Im ports, Inc. 407-884-0078 April 2005 Page 5 Seafood Lasagna Rolls This is a really simple meal to prepare. I will give you the recipe for the basic rolls but if I gave you the recipe for the sauce I would have to kill you!! INGREDIENTS 1 pkg of Lasagna Noodles 1 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese 8 oz of Salad Shrimp 8 oz of Crab Meat 8 oz of Lobster 16 oz of Ricotta cheese 2 eggs 8 oz shredded Mozzarella Cheese Italian Cookoff Lunch is a popular time here at AAA Imports, so why not continue with our monthly challenge and see who can make the best... Italian Lunch! Last month's Chili Cookoff caused quite a stir. Challenges were made and weeks of planning and politicking went into this cookoff. The competition was fi erce, complete with name calling and fi nger pointing. And the winner is... Ms. Tracy with her Seafood Lasagna Rolls. Just look at the ingredients of her secret recipe - shrimp, crab and lobster. Wow, believe me, this italian dish was fantastic! Much discussion ensued about that secret Tracy sauce recipe. What good is an italian dish without that special sauce... the sauce is everything. So it is the opinion of everyone here at AAA, Tracy, please give it up. What is the recipe to the marvelous sauce? Clayton DIRECTIONS Boil the noodles until they start to get soft. Once done then lay them out so they don t stick together. Chop the Shrimp, Crab and Lobster into dime size bits. Mix together all ingredients except the mozzarella cheese Spread mixture the entire length of the noodle. Then starting at one end and roll to the other end. Place the open side down so it doesn t unroll in a lightly coated oven pan. This is where I can t give out the sauce that is poured on top. But you can use any kind of Alfredo, Spaghetti or even Marinara sauce. Pour the sauce of your choice over the prepared rolls and bake at 350 degrees for 45 mins. About 10 minutes before it is done sprinkle with the Mozzarella Cheese and broil until the top turns to a golden brown. You can make the rolls with the same ingredients that you would use to prepared regular lasagna. They are easier to serve for parties or a get together and easier to calculate how much to make. The kids have a blast helping out!! Have fun and Enjoy!!! Tracy Duckbill Platypus The duckbill platypus is a unique animal. It is about half the size of a house cat. They weigh between 1.5 and 5.5 pounds and are 26 inches to 39 inches long. They have a bill that resembles a duck, a long coarse tail like a beaver, webbed feet like a duck and thick, brown fur like a sea otter. The duckbill platypus is a shy, solitary animal that lives in the fresh water systems of Australia. They can also be found in New South Wales and Victoria. Duckbills prefer lakes and rivers surrounded by forested area. The Platypus spend about 12 hours a day swimming and hunting for food in the water, such as larvae, water snails and small crustaceans. They will sweep their head from side to side to locate prey. Adults have no teeth so once there cheeks are full of food they will resurface, separate the food from the sand, and then grind it between the plates. The laws throughout Australia and the Wild Life Act of 1974 protect the duckbill platypuses from hunters. TammyP Critter of the Month
AAA Im ports, Inc. 407-884-0078 April 2005 Page 6 Handling Glassware The Glassware is here - it's AAA Imports' newest product line. The Glass Vases are beautiful and elegant, and priced just right for resale to the Retail Florists. But with any new products comes education in the care and use of them. Safety is always Number One! Here are the Top Three Rules on Handling the Glassware: 01. Never Handle Broken Glassware. If you detect a case with broken glass vases: a. Remove all of the inner boxes with the intact, good vases b. Leave the broken vase(s) in the original carton c. Discard the broken vase(s) by discarding the whole carton 02. Always use both hands when handling the vases. If you pickup a vase by the lip, and it is full of water, the vase may break-away from your grip. All vases require ample support with one hand holding the vase shoulder and the other hand supporting the base. 03. Do not touch the edge of the glassware. Do not slide your fi ngers or hand across the glass edges. Although the glass vase edges are ground smooth and individually inspected, damage and chipping may occur in transit - creating a sharp edge. Remember, Safety is Number One. We hope to avoid any bad experiences in this new endeavor. Thanks for your attention in this safety issue.
