Beer Here at The Petersfield we love beer! In fact we d go as far to say it s one of our favourite past times & we re more than a little bit excited about bringing you a wonderful, wide & occasionally weird selection of grain based brews. So, we ve decided to regularly rotate all our hand pull lines & showcase a whole bunch of our favourites, including: Tydd Steam, Wisbeach Pig & Porter, Tunbridge Wells Tring Brewery Co, Tring Cans & Bottles Unlike bottles, cans protect beer from its two arch enemies: sunlight & oxygen. Not only is canned beer better for our palette, but it s better for our planet. They re 100% recyclable & don t require labels or other additional packaging, & they weigh less, so when they travel across the world they create a lower carbon footprint. Cans are durable & dependable & stack neatly in your bag. They also cool down quickly, which is great if you re feeling parched. Cans don t break & can therefore go where the glass bottle can t they re ideal for al-fresco mucking about & adventuring, picnics, camping, music festivals, hiking, golf, beaches, fishing, trainspotting & dog walking you get the idea But if we still can t convince you, we also stock some rather delicious hop based bottles. The best of Blighty A wonderous array of some British brewed crafty favourites Beavertown Gamma Ray 5.4% (Tottenham Hale, London) 4.6 This tropical juicy number has been dry hopped for so long that you can navigate your way to this Tottenham based brewery via sniff navigation. Magic Rock Cannonball 7.4% (Huddersfield, West Yorkshire) 5.1 Big bitter notes merge effortlessly with lashings of citrus & pine. This whopping 7.4% behemoth will quickly wash all the day s troubles away. Moor Nor Hop 4.1% (Bristol) 4.6 Revered by even the harshest critics, Moor s Nor Hop snaps with floral notes, crackles with elderflower & pops with juicy American hops. Magic Rock Highwire Grapefruit 5.5% (Huddersfield, West Yorkshire) 5.1 A lip-smacking, mouth wateringly refreshing beer that s as crisp as bed sheets in a swanky hotel. Yeastie Boys Pot Kettle Black 6% (Ellon, Scotland) 5.1 Fresh as a daisy, dark as the night, this little contradiction would be a wonder with roast meats. Magic Rock Dark Arts 6% (Huddersfield, West Yorkshire) 5.1 With a mystical aura & potential to convert you to the dark side this one s a firm favourite. Brewdog, Nanny State alcohol free 0.5% (Fraserburgh, Scotland) 4.1 A cracking option for those of us driving home or just laying off the sauce. 1 2
Cans & Bottles From all over the place La Chouffe 8% (Belgium) 5.8 With hints of coriander & hops this fruity spiced blond is our go to bottle from Belgiun. Sierra Nevada 5.6% (USA) 5.3 The Godfather, the king, the one ring of pale ales. The beer that made Cascade hops famous and started our love affair with the American craft beer movement. Chimay Blue 9% (Belgium) 6 A dark beast of a beer that s handmade by monks & stinks of caramel, dough & toffee. Hitachino Nest White Ale 5.5% (Japan) 5.4 We just love, love love a good Witbier beer, especially with food, & Japanese Hitachino Nest offers an interesting twist on the classic Belgium s. Think Hoeggarden re-imagined by Yoko- Ono. Vedett Extra Blonde 5% (Belgium) 4.7 A proper class pilsener from Brewer Duvel Moortgat (makers of Duvel) this blonde is as crisp & refreshing as a lemony facewash, with a lingering bitterness to keep you on your toes. Brooklyn Brown 5.6% (USA) 4.9 A slightly richer version of the more commonly seen Brooklyn Lager this brown ale is a good ease-in to craft beer. Estrella Daura 5.4% (Spain) - Gluten Free 4.9 With a good mix of hops & balanced malt sweetness this GF beer has won more awards than La La Land. And deservedly so. Ciders There s no way we could flit over the ciders without giving it some serious thought Petersfield Cloudy Cider 4.5% 4.3 Crafted in Herefordshire with a unique blend of British bittersweet cider apples, this is a perfect summer s day quaffing cider. Ask for a free sample & bet you end up buying one! Lilley s Cider During our search for the world s greatest cider, we stumbled across an apple-dorable family run producer called Lilley s Cider - based in Frome, Somerset. The family pride themselves on producing a diverse range of traditional & experimental blends (ciders & perrys) - with lashings of care & enthusiasm so we ve decided to try the lot & keep small batches rotating. Lilley s Bea Sting Perry 7.5% (Somerset) 6 This medium sweet still perry oozes subtle flavours & has a bit of a cult status with the locals. 3 Wine Wine oh wonderful wine how we love your balance of fruitiness, acidity, bitterness & body that makes you such a subtle-yet-captivating beverage. Whilst we may recognise that wine is an acquired taste, we re also convinced that somewhere in amongst our carefully selected list of fermented grape juices we re going to have a tipple in there just for you.
