Ozores-Hampton 2 This list includes a number of varieties of tomatoes currently popular with Florida growers; it is by no means a comprehensive list of all varieties that may be adapted to the state. Indeterminate plants with continuous sets and full clusters to the top of the plant. High yield of uniform fruit with brilliant red color and excellent flavor. High brix and excellent shelf-life. Well suited for in and outdoor production. Sakata. Tami G Early season. Indeterminate vigorous bush. Picks for an extended period. Very sweet, firm, fruit. Yields well. Seedway. Figure 4. Shiren Mid-season. R to F-R (1, 2), N and ToM. Compact plant with nice cluster and high yield potential. Hazera. Heirlooms Tomatoes Amana orange 85-90 days. S to Bacterial leaf spot, FCR, and TYLC. Indeterminate plant. Large orange fruit relatively smooth for, an heirloom. Tomato Grower's Supply, Siegers Seed Company.

Tomato Cultivars for Production in Florida 5 is pink-red, similar to Brandywine. Early maturity. More heat-set capabilities than most heirlooms. Johnny's Selected Seeds, Tomato Grower's Supply. Striped German 78 days. S to Bacterial leaf spot, gray wall, FCR and TYLC. Indeterminate plant. Large yellow fruit with red streaks. Not as productive as Prudens (in south Florida), but have striking color. Johnny's Selected Seeds,, Sieger's Seed Company. Figure 6. Indeterminate plant with large pink fruit. Also comes in yellow and red. The yellow often get gray wall. May be most well-known heirloom tomato. Johnny's Selected Seeds, Tomato Grower's Supply, Sieger's Seed Company, Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. Note# Since these are open-pollinated varieties, many are also available from other companies or individuals. Some have developed their own strains of a certain variety. Most heirlooms, especially the larger-fruited varieties, are extremely susceptible to cracking. So most growers will find it best not to water or fertilize heavily when there is fruit on the plants. Big Zebra 85 days. S to Bacterial leaf spot, FCR and TYLC. Indeterminate plant. Red and green striped, with some yellow as it ripens. Larger than Green Zebra; more like an irregular 4X5 tomato. Not as large fruit as some other heirlooms, but often more productive plants. Excellent sweet flavor.
