Getting to St Mary s Facilities Internet Access The Refectory Upon Arrival Please collect your key pack and sign in at Security Lodge, located next to Main Reception. Unless otherwise agreed in advance the check-in time is from 2pm. On Departure Standard check-out time is 9am unless arranged otherwise in advance. Please leave your key pack in the slot in the desk at Main Reception. Catering Accommodation blocks contain basic kitchen facilities with a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Due to student health and safety regulations, there are no cookers/hobs in on-site accommodation. Kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery are not provided. All delegates are responsible for their own washing-up and must provide their own utensils. Broadband access is available in all guest rooms at. This service is provided by KeySurf. Each room is equipped with a Wireless Access Device which should be stored in the desk drawer if this is missing please inform Housekeeping. To connect to the Internet follow these instructions: 1. Connect to the Wireless access Point to the network port in your room (usually next to the desk) 2. Plug the Wireless Access Device into the power outlet and switch on. 3. Using the wireless network name and password, which are printed on the back of the device, connect to the network. 4. Open a web browser. You will be redirected to the Key Surf sign in page. Click on Create an account, enter your username and the system will generate a password keep a note of this. The Refectory is the largest food outlet and dining room situated in the heart of the campus. Freshly cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner available. Menus offer main course choices of meat, vegetarian or fish; jacket potatoes; pies; pizzas; pasta; a salad bar and hot and cold desserts. Specific dietary requirements can generally be catered for with sufficient notice. The Refectory is open 8am-7pm* with the following hot meal times (unless otherwise pre arranged): Public Transport Links Public transport is recommended as we are 5 minutes walk from Strawberry Hill Station and the No. 33 bus stops right outside the University. Please check our website for directions and public transport information: www.stmarys.ac.uk/contact/directions Car Parking On Campus Limited car parking is available on campus and is on a first come, first served basis. Parking restrictions apply at all times excluding June to August. On occasion some spaces may be reserved for events on campus. Campus operates clamping and ticketing so please do not park on double yellow lines, yellow boxes or in disabled bays (unless you have a disabled badge). Parking Locally There are several local side roads where people can currently park without charge. Please check signage. If your accommodation rate includes meals these are taken in the Refectory (details overleaf). Room Services Bedlinen and towels are provided in all bedrooms as standard and are changed once a week. Washeteria All guests can use the washeteria for laundry, which is situated in the L block (please see the campus map). It is a coin operated facility and open between 8am and 10pm. Last washes are at 8.45pm and last drying at 9.15pm. Dol.cHe Vita Café Situated between the Library and the Students' Union Building, the café is a great place to meet up during the day. Wi-Fi access is available throughout the café building. In addition to your favourite Starbucks Latte or Frappuccino, there is a range of sandwiches, salads and also a hot snack menu offering items such as nachos with dips, toasted sandwiches and paninis, etc. Opening times are subject to change. Accommodation Directions Old House Proceed out of the main reception and the first door on the left is the entrance to Old House halls (Floors 2 and 3). Continue to the end of the covered walkway to the entrance for the first floor. De Marillac, Doyle, Graham or Wiseman (Pink Path) Waldegrave Park Houses, Cashin, Cronin or Clive (Blue Path) 16 Strawberry Hill All Other Accommodation (Yellow Path) When you reach the sports field turn left and walk down the path between the athletics track and the main pitch. When you reach the accommodation buildings, De Marillac is directly ahead of you with the north entrance on the left and the south entrance on the right. Follow the yellow path, then the blue path to reach your accommodation building. From the corner of the car park Clive S, Clive T and Clive U and Waldegrave Park 33 and 35 are along the path to your left, behind the car park. Proceed out of the main entrance and turn left onto Waldegrave Road. Strawberry Hill Road is by the pedestrian crossing outside the white gates. No. 16 is a 5 minute walk down the road on the left hand side. From main reception turn left and follow the path towards the piazza, enter the corridor which is immediately in front of you. Go through the corridor and continue straight past the SU building to your left until you reach the corner of the sports field. Graham is to the left of De Marillac, Wiseman is behind De Marillac (go between the De Marillac entrances) and Doyle is to the right of De Marillac. The red building in front of you is Cronin. Continuing down the left-hand side of Cronin, you will find Waldegrave Park 21 in front of you, and Cashin to the right of that. Walk past Cashin to Waldegrave Park Houses 19, 17 and 15. Then follow further instructions for your designated accommodation. If staying in Waldegrave Park 9 or 13 go out of the green gate, located between 17 and 15, turn right and continue until you reach your accommodation on the right. 6 7
Fire and Emergency Instructions On arrival please familiarise yourself with the location of your fire exits, refuge points, designated assembly points and Fire Notices in each halls of residence. If the alarm sounds leave the building IMMEDIATELY. Do not stop to collect personal possessions. Go to your designated assembly point. Please do not enter the building until University Security has given clearance.
