2 A6mani was founded in 2011 by three cousins that come from two Puglian grape grower families. The cousins, all ladies: Maria Cavallo, Elise Clerfeuille and Francesca Cavallo, set out with one clear objective - to create wines from indigenous varietals whilst preserving regional traditions, in turn expressing Puglia, specifically Salento s, true potential. 3 a6mani sources grapes from four vineyards which are located across four districts in Salento. These vineyards have been selected because of their ability to provide exceptional varietal expressions from varying soil and climatic conditions. Li Marini The vineyards in this district are 10 km far from the Ionian Sea, receiving very little rainfall throughout the year. The pale brown and impermeable clay soil best suits fragrant grapes, whose balance must be oriented towards notes of aromas and freshness. It is from these vineyards that the a6mani Bianco Salento a6mani and a6mani Moscato Bianco are made. Monte la Conca On the east side of Masseria Li Marini there s an area known as Monte la Conca, located in the central part of the DOC area, Primitivo di Manduria. Masseria Monte la Conca has long insolation hours during the day and generally high temperatures with almost no rainfall during the warmer months. With a thin layer of dry red soil, these vineyards offer an ideal habitat for red grape varieties that provide structure and intense colour, such as Malvasia Nera del Salento, Aglianico and Negroamaro. It is from these vineyards that the fruit for the a6mani Rosso Salento, a6mani Negroamaro Salento and a6mani Salice Salentino are made. I M P O R T E D B Y C AR S O N W I N E S ESTATE
4 Troncarea and Mesola dell Volpi Located on the Ionian coast, the Troncarea and Mesola delle Volpi (Foxes Hill) districts offer the ideal terroir for great red wines. The long hours of insolation and the high temperatures all year round allow for a great richness of sugar in the fruit, while the breezes from the nearby Gulf of Taranto procide necessary relief for the vineyards at night, protecting the grapes from dampness and rots. The soil is almost sandy, therefore the rootstocks reach easily through the limestone calcareous bedrock, which is a storage of water and refreshment. This unique balance of climate results in superb quality Primitivo and Merlot grapes. These vineyards produce a6mani Primitivo Salento, a6mani Familiae Primitivo Merlot and a6mani Famliae Primitvo di Manduria DOC. Campofreddo A small district on the coastal area in the south of the province of Taranto. The soil is almost sandy, the climate so dry that it only allows dry-land farming. Campofreddo has a very thin layer of soil (just 60 cm compared to the average of almost 90/100 cm across the other sites), which makes this strip of land ideal for bush-vines. This vineyard, precious and old, has a high density (5/6000) of vines per hectare and personifies the heritage of traditional viticulture; very low yield of fruit resulting in miraculous concentration and structure, such as the a6mani Concura Primitivo di Manduria Riserva DOC.
