Sales will begin August 29, 2016 Sales Guide - Barbecue and Stew 2016 October 7th and 8th Plates will be served from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p m. on Friday, October 7th. The cost of a plate will be $9.00. Barbecue plates will consist of barbecue, baked beans, coleslaw, bread, and drink. (Drinks are for dine in only). Tea, lemonade, and water will be available to those eating at the church. Plates are only available on Friday October 7th (Dine in or take out). Brunswick stew will be sold for $9.00 per quart. A pound of BBQ will be $10.00 each. Orders containing 10 or more units of barbecue plates, stew and/or pounds of BBQ will have all items priced at $9.00 each. Traditional and hot sauce will be available for $4.00 per bottle. Bottles of Scorpion hot sauce will be $8.00 each. All take-out orders and items sold in advance may be picked up at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7th and from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 8th. Because product can be oversold, it is highly recommended the scouts pick up their items on Friday afternoon or evening. If you have large quantities to be picked up, it is helpful to bring coolers to transport the product. Scouts should use the attached Take-out Order Summary Slip to summarize the quantities of items being picked up and the desired pick up time. This is a critical step to allow for the volunteers to manage the flow of orders on Friday. This Take-out Order Summary Slip should be turned in to Mrs. Lawrence no later than the Monday prior to the event (Monday, October 3rd). Each scout is expected to sell a minimum of $300 of product. Families with more than one scout are expected to sell $450. Parents are encouraged to be involved with the sales effort as well as the tasks associated with wood splitting, cooking, packing, serving, etc. Scouts will receive scout bucks for all sales over the minimum requirement based on the following table. As an example, a scout who sells $500 of product would earn $50 in scout bucks. The following rates will apply: Sales Level Scout bucks per dollar sold above minimum At least $300, but less than $450 $0.20 At least $450, but less than $1,000 $0.25 More than $1,000 $0.30 Scout bucks will be paid on all dollars tuned in by October 31 st, 2016. Money turned in after that date will not be eligible for Scout Bucks. 1
The overall top selling scout will receive $100 in cash. The highest selling patrol (where all scouts in the patrol sell the minimum) will be entitled to go first at all events and outings as designated by the Scoutmaster. In an effort to have each scout contribute his fair share of the troop expenses, scouts not selling the minimum will be required to pay to the troop the gross profit generated from that amount. Scouts not meeting this obligation will not be eligible for any troop subsidies. The attached form is to be used for recording sales. A copy of the sheet should be turned in with any checks and cash. Please be sure your name is on whatever you turn in. Initially, you will be assigned 20 tickets. Ticket Use If your scout is not involved in the delivery of product, no tickets are necessary. If your customer is picking up their product at the church or is planning to go to the church to dine-in, tickets must be provided to the customer. One ticket should be provided for each pound of barbecue, quart of stew or bottle of sauce purchased. For example, 2 lbs of barbecue require 2 tickets. If a customer buys plates and wishes to eat at the church, one ticket is given for each plate purchased. Unused tickets must be turned in at the end of the sales period.
