Top wines had beautiful fruit with good oak balance and will be treasures for years to come. Major negative on the wines was the overuse of new oak on the wines which dominated the fruit, but hopefully in time this will integrate to become classic aged Hunter Shiraz. Stock up on the 14 vintage customers it s a cracker. Super class of wines, a couple of classics hunter examples and some beautiful contemporay styles covering all bases for gold. Fresh bright and balanced.

Top gold has poise+ beautiful hunter shiraz vitallity, whilst non award winners were either advanced or over-oaked. Overall though- the best class we have judged this week. Excellent class of Shiraz. Classic, medium bodied Hunter styles were enjoyed and savoured highly. Oak still featured a little too much, Save your money.
