edinburgh gin AN INTRODUCTION Edinburgh Gin was founded in 2010 by Alex and Jane Nicol and is owned by Ian Macleod Distillers as of September 2016. Small-batch distiller and multi-award winning, Edinburgh Gin has been crafting the gin renaissance from Scotland s capital. The recipes are inspired by Edinburgh s gin-making heritage and surrounding landscape. Each bottle is distilled below stairs at the eponymous Edinburgh Gin Distillery, and at their recently opened second distillery, Edinburgh Gin at The Biscuit Factory, in the historic port of Leith. page 2
THE GIN SOPHISTICATION, DISTILLED EDINBURGH GIN (43% ABV) A juniper forward London Dry style gin, given a unique Scottish identity with its carefully balanced blend of 14 botanicals. IWSC Silver Outstanding 2016 / IWSC Gold Packaging 2016 CANNONBALL EDINBURGH GIN (57% ABV) Inspired by the famous One O clock Gun, this navy strength libation has an intense flavour, defined by distinct juniper, citrus and szechuan pepper. IWSC Gold 2015 SEASIDE EDINBURGH GIN (43% ABV) Distilled with foraged seaweed, scurvy grass and ground ivy from the Scottish coast, the unique gin boasts a sweet yet refreshing salinity. gin liqueurs A SPLASH OF INDULGENCE, ABUNDANT WITH NATURAL FLAVOUR EDINBURGH GIN S RASPBERRY LIQUEUR The first of the family of fruit liqueurs. It is expertly crafted using native raspberries sourced from Perthshire, the home of Scotland s finest soft fruit crops. EDINBURGH GIN S RHUBARB & GINGER LIQUEUR A flavoursome libation which is perfect for cocktails and making desserts such as trifles and jellies or simply sipping straight over ice with a bright, sweet rhubarb-filled aroma. IWSC Bronze Award, Great Taste Awards 2015 ««EDINBURGH GIN S ELDERFLOWER LIQUEUR This is a delicately balanced liqueur made using fresh elderflowers and lemon juice for a clean floral nose with hints of pear, citrus and grapefruit zest. The core range are presented in custom-made bottles, crafted in Milan by Bruni Glass. Ergonomically designed for bartenders, the bottles each feature etched lettering, stylistically inspired by the sophistication of the Art Deco era. THE DISTILLERS CRAFTING CONTEMPORARY GINS HEAD DISTILLER, DAVID WILKINSON, LEADS THE TEAM IN DEVELOPING OUR DISTINGUISHED FAMILY OF GINS. David progressed from whisky enthusiast to achieving an MSc in Brewing and Distilling from Heriot Watt University. David knows everything there is to know about modern gin distilling processes. David works closely with Finlay Nicol, fellow Distiller and Distillery Manager at Edinburgh Gin. Having worked previously as a professional chef, Finlay honed his skills understanding the importance of flavour. This is achieved by using only the best ingredients, producing perfect concoctions. They are supported by fellow distillers, Ruairidh Kemmett and Darren Edmond. page 7
THE GIN TOUR AN AWARD-WINNING EXPERIENCE THE EDINBURGH GIN DISTILLERY IS A DESTINATION QUITE UNLIKE ANY OTHER. Nestled beneath the stairs on Shandwick Place, the Edinburgh Gin Distillery visitor centre offers the unique chance to discover the contemporary gin experience in a working distillery. The Edinburgh Gin Distillery has been awarded 4 stars from Visit Scotland and also has a TripAdvisor excellence rating, being ranked #15 for things to do in Edinburgh. THE DISTILLERIES CRAFTING THE GIN RENAISSANCE EDINBURGH GIN STARTED PRODUCING SMALL BATCH GIN IN 2010. Edinburgh Gin was first made at Broxburn Distillers, though soon began distilling at 1A Rutland Place, in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle in Edinburgh s West End. In 2016 Edinburgh Gin opened a second distillery in the historic gin port of Leith. Edinburgh Gin transformed part of the former Crawfords biscuit factory into a new distillery, in response to the strong international growth of gin. This expansion will more than quadruple production capacity, with the new distillery producing enough spirit to make over 2.5million G&T s each year. There is also opportunity to expand further by adding another still. page 9
