Over a decade ago, before Rosé became popular again, Green s had introduced our customers to the joys of drinking dry Rosé. It is the perfect summertime wine. Cool and refreshing, and usually moderately priced, Rosé is meant to be consumed without pretense. It is just a fun wine that is delicious by itself or with almost any food. ~Doug Werner France Provence and Loire Valley

Victor Costieres de Nimes Rosé-2014 What a beautiful Rosé! It s hard for me to select a favorite of this group as I liked them all (after all I picked them), but if I had to point out just one it would be this wine. It s got everything, an elegant light to medium pink color, a red fruit and watermelon-like aroma, and a flavor that is the perfect balance between acidity and fruit. It is from Costieres de Nimes, just west of Provence in the southern Rhone Valley. Cuvee Prestige Ventoux Rosé-2014 (not pictured) Prestige Rose is a direct press of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 20% Cinsault aged all in stainless steel vats. Very light pink in color, it gives up fresh, crisp aromas of rose petal, white peach, and hints of melon in its medium-bodied, clean, elegant and hard-to-resist personality. Buy it by the case and enjoy it over the coming summer months. Les Acanthes Rosé- 2014 Deep bright partridge eye ruby pink colors. Nose: woodland fruit - cherry. Mouth: powerful - flavorful long spicy finish. It is a blend of drip juices which give it the requisite aromas, fruit, freshness and acidity, and pressing juices which preserve its richness, structure and strength. The King Of Rosé -Tavel If there was a Grand Cru system ranking Rosé in France, the district of Tavel would be home to most of the First Growths. Bearing the unofficial title of King of Rosé, it was the favorite wine of several Kings of France, as well as the Avignon Popes. It was one of the first areas in all of France to be granted an official appellation (A.O.C.) in 1936, at the same time as its more famous neighbor, Chateauneuf-du- Pape. It is also a unique appellation in France, as it is allowed to make only Rosé. As this is all that they can do, who else can claim to have more experience in making fine Rosé? There are three types of soil here that have a strong effect on the character of the wine. West of town is dominated by limestone and slate. Here low-yielding vines grow, giving deep and aromatic wines. Another type is the flat, sandy, rocky fields, easy to cultivate and good for ripening. The third is dominated by galéts roules, the smooth round stones also found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This soil is located east of the town in the direction of Châteauneuf. You find the most intensely flavored Tavels here.
Cuvee Royale Tavel Rosé-2014 The terroir of the vineyard of this wine is entirely galéts roules, the same large smooth pebbles found in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. These stones reflect the heat toward the fruit during the day, and retain, and slowly release, heat throughout the night. The grapes get unusually ripe here. Made from Grenache (50%), Clairette (11%), Cinsault (20%), Picpoul and Bourboulenc (10%), Carignan and Syrah (9%), this Tavel is rich and powerful. Possesses a deep pink color and ripe cherries on the bouquet, this dry, rich, ripe red fruit flavored wine is one of the most concentrated Rosés we carry. If Chateauneuf-du-Pape made a Rosé, this is what it would taste like. Les Acanthes Tavel Rosé-2014 Green s Cash Price: This Tavel hails from vineyards planted on the three main soil types of the area: limestone, smooth pebbles, and sandy soil and is made from Grenache (50%), Clairette (8%),Cinsault (15%), Picpoul and Bourboulenc (7%), Carignan, Syrah, and Mourvedre (20%). Very aromatic strawberry and spice notes in the bouquet, this lively, red fruit driven wine possesses a hint of pepper. This is a benchmark for the classic style of Tavel. CORSICA Domaine Fazi Rosé Ile de Beaute-2014 This is the third year we ve been able to source this wine and it has become one of our customers favorite Rosés. Made from four grape varieties, 35% Sciaccarellu, 30% Merlot, 25% Grenache, and 10% Cinsault, the major component, Sciaccarellu, is a native grape variety of the island. Close in appearance to the Pinot Noir grape, the wine from this grape displays an aroma similar to Pinot as well. Oeil de Perdrix in color (that s fancy French talk for very pale Rosé), indeed it has a light tint of bronze blended with an airy pale pink hue. The bouquet is very subtle, fruity and discreet, with lightly spiced notes. The flavor is all about freshness and crispness. SPAIN Spain is consistently making Rosé comparable in quality to those of France! Muga Rosado Rioja-2014 Light, bright pink. High-pitched aromas of redcurrant and strawberry, with complicating notes of blood orange and white pepper. Dry and racy, offering lively red fruit and citrus flavors that show very good depth and intensity. Finishes bright and nervy, with lingering spiciness and an echo of blood orange. I could drink this all day. Rated 90 points ~Stephen Tanzer-International Wine Cellar Castaño Yecla Monastrell Rosado-2014 Raspberry red, clean and candescent. On the nose it displays hints of red fruit, strawberry and raspberry. It has a smooth mouth, medium structure and a rounded finish. -Winemaker s Notes
SOUTH AFRICA Mulderbosch Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé-2014 The 2014 Rose of Cabernet Sauvignon Stellenbosch comes from vines specifically used for rosé production and undergoes a cool fermentation and early bottling. It has a simple but clean red cherry and wet stone bouquet. The palate is crisp on the entry with red cherry and strawberry notes segueing into a brisk and vibrant finish. -Robert Parker s Wine Advocate Copyright 2015 Green's Beverages, All rights reserved.
