Scheid Hall, the event space at our brewery in Minneapolis, offers a spacious yet intimate setting for your occasion. And you probably already know how good the food and beer will be. Additional setup time requires an increased food and beverage minimum. If a full day is needed to decorate, arrangements can be made. Ask your Events Director for details. WHAT S IT GOING TO COST? (Continued) Surly Brewing requires that clients meet the food and beverage minimum. Should the food and beverage minimum not be reached, a room fee will be added to the final bill in order to reach the food and beverage minimum. The food and beverage minimums are based on three (3) hour increments Sunday through Thursday and six (6) hour increments on Fridays and Saturdays. An increase of $250.00 per hour will be applied to the food and beverage minimum if the space is needed for more than three (3) hours on a week day, week night or during the day on Saturday. An increase of $250.00 per hour will also be applied to the food and beverage minimum if the space is needed for more than six (6) hours on a Friday or Saturday evening. SCHEID HALL BLOCKS AVAILABLE TIMES MINIMUMS Night Rental: Sunday - Thursday 5:30PM to 11PM $2,500 per 3 hours Night Rental: Friday & Saturday 5:00PM to 12:00AM $5,000 per 6 hours The space may be available for an alternative start time other than 5PM for evening events. Full day reservation of Scheid Hall requires a $7,000.00 minimum. Check with the Events Director for availability for your preferred date. If you do not hit the food and beverage minimum, you will be charged a room fee equivalent to get to it. The food and beverage minimum includes only food and beverage. Weekend full day buyouts require you to meet the full day s total food and beverage minimum, plus an additional $500.00 rental fee. MENU SELECTIONS (continued) Menu selections are requested one (1) month prior to the event date. Allergies and certain dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Plated menus are designed for three entrée choices (one being a vegetarian option). A fourth entrée will incur an increase in pricing for all entrees served. A guaranteed guest count and menu selection is due two (2) weeks prior to the event. If guaranteed guest count is not received, the guest count given at the time of booking will be used. Your signed event contract agreeing to your event order is due at this time as well. We will make every effort to accommodate any last minute increase in guest counts. Decreases in guest count are not allowed within five (5) days of the event. Final menu selections must be confirmed no later than three (3) business days prior to your event, no adjustments will be accepted after that time. Additional food may be ordered during your event, a 10% current menu price increase will apply. Menu items available for reorder will be provided by Chef the day of the event. Menu pricing on food and beverage is guaranteed 60 days prior to your event. FOOD AND BEER POLICIES Surly s event center is in our brewery, and due to the Minnesota State Tap Room law we can only serve our own beer. Our really, really good beer. We also provide our guests with an assortment of soft drinks available for purchase. You may not bring wine, spirits, or any other kind of beverage in to your event. With the exception of specialty cakes and desserts, no outside food or beverage is allowed. Absolutely no flasks, wine bottles or any kind of alcohol may be brought in to the building. If outside alcohol is discovered in the possession of a guest, the contents will be disposed of. All food is made in house and must be consumed in house. In accordance with the State of Minnesota health codes, no food or beverage can be packed up for takeout. WEDDING CAKES AND DESSERTS We have a talented pastry chef staffed to provide our clientele with any kind of dessert and wedding cakes. Please speak to your event coordinator about specific dessert needs and options. Any cakes or cupcakes that have not been cut or served to your party may be boxed up and taken home with you at the end of the night. TASTINGS Tastings are available after you have signed the reservation contract for your event. The Events Director will review the tasting guidelines with you and set up the best tasting plan to meet your event needs. Tastings dates must be scheduled with a minimum of two weeks notice. CENTERPIECES, LINENS & other décor We have basic centerpiece options available for no charge. Your own centerpieces & décor may be brought in as long as they don t conflict with our Stuff You Can t Do clause. Linen rental is $150. Table linen options include black, white, or ivory, as well as a colored napkin option. STUFF YOU CAN T DO You may not affix anything to the walls, floors, or ceilings, unless a pre-approved vendor does it. ABSOLUTELY no glitter, glitter balloons, confetti, feather boas, flower petals, ceiling draping, nails (the kind you hammer), duct tape, thumbtacks, or flames (candles, torches, etc.). DECORATION OPTIONS You can install your own decorations, or we can do it for you. SURLY STAFF INSTALLS YOUR DECORATIONS $300 SETUP & CLEANUP FEE If excessive cleanup is required an additional cleaning fee may be charged. CEREMONY PACKAGE FEE This package includes an arch, high top tables, décor alongside the arch and chairs for immediate family. $300 $300 AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT Scheid Hall is equipped with a state-of-the-art A/V setup. Our sound systems are available to play background music and use the house microphone. In Scheid Hall, live bands and DJs must provide their own equipment and staging. The Scheid Hall AV fee is $175 and includes the following: HD projector with 130 screen Presentation podium with touch screen system control, Microsoft Windows computer with MS Office, and Blu-ray/DVD player Two wireless microphones In-ceiling amplified speaker system VGA and Mini Display Port inputs with audio Wi-Fi access We are happy to refer you to outside AV companies for additional AV needs and electrical needs. SECURITY All wedding receptions must have security present for the duration of the event. OUTSIDE VENDORS Surly Brewing allows outside vendors (DJs, florists, up lighting designers, decorators, etc.). We have preferred vendors that we can tell you about. Please discuss your needs with the Events Director. DEPOSIT & Payments A $500.00 deposit is required to book Scheid Hall at any time Sunday Thursday. A $1,000 deposit is required to book a Friday or Saturday event. Deposits are due upon signing the contract when booking an event in Scheid Hall. Your deposit will be applied towards your final payment. Full pre-payment for a Friday or Saturday event is due five (5) days prior to the event. Pre-payments may be made beginning (10) days prior to the event. Events held Sunday to Thursday do not require a deposit or pre-payment UNLESS the contracted total of the event exceeds $7,000. Pre-authorization of your form of payment will be required the day of your event prior to your start time. Cash and credit cards are accepted. cancellations We get it. Sometimes things come up and cancellations have to happen. If you cancel up to 90 days before your event, you will be refunded your full deposit and not charged a cancellation fee. If you cancel between 60 and 30 days, the cancellation fee is 50% of your contracted food & beverage minimum. If cancelling within 30 days of your event you will be charged a cancellation fee of 75% of your contracted food and beverage minimum. At this time we will also retain the your deposit. Cancelling within 5 days of the event will result in a cancellation fee that is 100% of your contract food and beverage order and no deposit refund. For day of cancellations the full amount of the contracted food and beverage will be charged to the credit card on file, along with all applicable service charges and taxes. SERVICE CHARGES AND TAXES A 20% service charge will be applied to all food and beverage functions. The tax rate is 7.775% for food and nonalcoholic beverages and 10.25% for beer. The service charge, rentals, security fee, clean up fees and set up fees are all subject to MN state tax of 7.775%. CONTRACT AND LEGAL STUFF A signed contract and credit card number is due upon booking your event. Another contract will be created and signed with all agreed upon itemized options and services. This final signed contract will determine the final bill and details of your event. Client/organization agrees to protect, indemnify, defend and hold harmless Surly Brewing and its employees and agents against all claims, losses or damage to persons or property, government charges, fines and costs (including attorney s fees) arising out of or connected with the use of the facilities, including but not limited to the installation, removal, maintenance, occupancy or use of the premises, or any part thereof, by client/organization or any guest, invitee or agent of the client/organization or any independent contractor hired by the client/organization, except those claims arising out of negligence or willful misconduct of Surly Brewing.
