Hawk Happenings September 2017 https://www.facebook.com/he415/ Kent School District has a Safe Arrival Policy which requires the school to make contact with a parent by phone, e-mail or note for each day a child is absent. If your child will be tardy or absent please notify the school at 253-373-7313 or email: HE.Attendance@kent.k12.wa.us Curriculum Night is scheduled for September 21st. Come and hear about the great things happening here at Horizon. Curriculum night is designed specifically for the parents, but child care will be provided. We will start at 6:00 PM and the event will end at 8:00 PM. School staff must be notified in writing if a child is to ride a different bus home or be picked up from school by someone other than a parent or regular pickup designee. Ideally, changes in transportation to and from school should be finalized prior to children leaving home in the morning. A note should be directed to the office explaining the special arrangements. In the event time does not allow for a note, a verifiable call should be placed to the school office prior to 3:00 p.m. to ensure enough time for the message to be routed to the teacher. Our buses are often at capacity so please do not assume students can ride a different bus to go home with a friend. Horizon Hawks Succeed Every Day! Horizon Elementary s Birthday Treat Policy in the classroom... Due to the increasing number of students with severe food allergies, as well as the responsibility we have to promote healthy lifestyle choices, Horizon will no longer allow any food items to be brought into the class for birthday celebrations. Some alternative ideas to replace cupcakes could be pencils, stickers, crazy straws and the like.
