Who and what is Russia "I always wonder what that huge country is?" Well in Russia you need space to fit all the food and fun. The Russian federation is huge. It's the biggest country in the world. It's almost two Canada's put together. Russia is only the sixth biggest population with 8,993,000 people, well you do you know why? HERE ARE SOME FUN THINGS YOU Might NOT WANT TO TRY For example in the winter Russians wear bathing suits and men brake the ice and they all have a splash into the ice cold water of a lake. Also the Russians have a cure for the sick just like the Native Americans, pray. Also the Russians rub alcohol on their bodies because when you do that the alcohol stays on your body and burns to keep you warm. Them jumping in water 3
Religion Have you ever been to a church, well in Russia it's different and I want to show you how it started. Religion is when you believe in a power or powers that are greater then them self's and that is how religion started. Many people that are in a religion group use there own way to worship or pray, but some people in the same religion still pray in different ways. Some religions include Catholicism, Judaism and others. Other religions are more based on how you live than what your beliefs are. So if you believe in superman, witches, ghosts, and many more powers let me tell you a little secret (that is not religion ). Sometimes there are strict rules if you don't do something right "ouch "you don't want to be that person. Church 4
Food in Russia Mmm smell the air of every restaurant in town, smell the soup, the warm meat off the grill with potatoes, ah boy I love this place. In Russia usually there are three courses, it starts with fish and meat salad then soup, then meat and potatoes, finally it's time for sweet yummy cake with tea or coffee. A lot of people or family's dedicate there life to planting and farming for more fresh food (so many people grow peppers). Most families make homemade black rye bread, but if you come to Russia you'll be stuffed with soup. In Russia they mostly make soup every where, restaurants, homes, soup, soup, soup. One famous soup is Borsch ( beat and cabbage soup ). Also a favorite vegetable is pickled cucumbers. So you've heard of four and more different foods so wouldn't you want to go to Russia. 5
