Cherie Gallagher (No. 14) Stephanie Ensign (No. 12) Martha Ellsworth (No.11) Katie Garrett (No.16) Dani Fox (No. 13) Theme Day Promotion 1. Theme: Star Wars 2. Promotion Plan: A. May 25, 2012 May the Fork Be With You! This is a celebration of the 35 th anniversary of the release of the first Star Wars movie. The theme is perfect for the hospital because it transcends all ages. Older people remember taking their children to see the movie in theaters when it was released, and younger generations grew up with the classic trilogy in their homes. Everybody knows about Star Wars, so this theme day can get a lot of people excited. B. See Attached Menu C. See Attached Recipes D. See Attached Production Schedule E. See Attached Procurement List F. Decorations: We will have a life-sized standup of Luke Skywalker greeting our guests as they enter the cafeteria. The lights will be dimmed and stars and planets will be hanging from the ceiling. In the center of the room, will be a hanging piñata of the death star. The cash register will be decorated with two toy lightsabers, and each table will have a pop-up star wars center piece. See attached document for pictures. G. Pre-event advertising: In effort to advertise for our Star Wars theme day, we made posters to place around the hospital two weeks in advanced. This way, visitors of patients, employees, and guests will have the chance to see our upcoming attraction. We also plan on enlarging the poster and putting one outside the entrance of the cafeteria to help attract those passing by. Another non-intentional form of advertisement comes through our decorations. On May 25 th, the actual Star Wars theme day, we want to have a projection of the movie playing on a wall. The noise and sounds of the movie will help attract guests and may persuade those who are contemplating whether or not to eat at the cafeteria. However, as much as theme day is for our guests, it is an even bigger deal for the kitchen employees because it will help break-up their work routine. Weekly meetings and talk about the upcoming event will help the employees get excited about it, and hopefully this will make them get more into the character and feel of the day. 3. We used Idaho Potato Commission to get our information on potatoes to be used in our products. They are a reliable source of information, with high standards and qualities of potatoes. We are also using the National Onion Association to get our information on onions to use in our products at the hospital. This source will help us achieve the highest quality products and customer satisfaction at the hospital.
