Brew and Explain how Green Tea is brewed 180 degree water, steep for 3 minutes 1 teaspoon of loose-leaf tea for each 1 measured cup of water Perfect cup teaspoon in catalog At home a heaping teaspoon (regular teaspoon)
4 White and Green tea leaves are not dried as long as Black and Herbal teas. Therefore the leaves are green and more tender. Using boiling water on them can scald the leaves. To obtain the best flavor from your White and Green tea, infuse the leaves in water that is no hotter than 180 degrees. What are the two ways to tell if the water is only 180 degrees? Answer: Utilitea water Kettle and when the water kettle makes a sizzling sound. The best way is to measure the temperature of the water with a meat thermometer. Monthly specials Show the monthly special for the hostess and Special flyer for guests. Pour Green Tea What teas can I re-infuse? White, and Green tea can be re-infused 3-4 times, so instead of throwing those infused tea leaves away, simply set them aside and re-infuse them with water for a second cup of tea. You can have your hot cup of tea in the morning, then re-infuse the leaves in the afternoon to make ice tea. How many store bought tea bags do you know that you can re-infuse this many times! You can put them in the refrigerator in a zip lock bag for 2-3 days.
Black tea can be infused a 2-3 times with some loss of flavor to the third infusion. Adding a pinch of fresh tea to the used leaves helps perk them up. Herbal tea does not really contain any tea leaves from the tea plant so it does not re-infuse well. You can try to re-infuse it one additional time, but the tea you receive from the 2 nd infusion will be weaker. 5 Start water for Herbal tea Tea Facts All tea comes from the same plant camellia senensis. Black tea is most popular in the US, India and Europe. Black tea is made by exposing the tea leaves to air which turns them a deep red-brown color and gives black tea its unique rich taste. Green tea is most popular in China and Japan. It is the least processed because the leaves are quickly steamed or heated. This allows the tea to retain its green color. Herbal tea is not really a tea because it does not come from the camellia senensis plant. It is a blend of plant leaves, flowers or roots, and various spices or fruit flavors.
