Tokyo City Sheet Tokyo is an amazing city. It means Eastern Capital and was previously known as Edo. Tokyo merges with Kawasaki and then Yokohama, making it one of the largest sprawling urban masses in the world. Tokyo is a district, like Washington DC, and swells to approximately 10 million people as workers, students and others flood in during the day. Ueno, Akihabara If you like to visit museum, Ueno is a good area. Around Ueno Park, there are a couple of museums, like the National Museum of Western Art and Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. Also there is the oldest zoo in Japan, the Ueno Zoo in the park. It s quite relaxing area to walk. Between Ueno and Akihabara, there is a street which is called Ameya Yokocho. There are hundreds of shops selling from casual clothes to street foods along railway bridges. Akihabara is the biggest electric shops area in Japan. And it s also known as comic and Anime culture town. Every Sunday, the streets are pedestrianized and many costumed people perform dancing and singing on the street. Shitamachi Museum (Ueno) : Down town culture of Edo period Maid Café (Akihabara) : Maid costumed girls Ameya Yokocho (Ueno~Akihabara) Tokyo, Yu-rakucho, Ginza Tokyo Imperial Palace is located in the west of Tokyo station. The area contains parliament house, supreme court, Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, and the buildings of ministries and agencies. Other side of Tokyo station is business area. You would see many business person wearing suits. There are many good and cheap Izakaya bar around this area. Especially there are many Izakaya under the railway around Yu-rakucho station. Ginza is one of the biggest area of bars and host clubs. Especially 7 cho-me and 8 cho-me is famous area for expensive clubs. You would see dressed up women and men who are on the way to work after 5pm.

There are shopping and restaurant districts. Roppongi Hills (Roppongi) : Sky view floor is good for Tokyo night view. Tokyo Mid Town (Roppongi) : Complex of offices, restaurants, shops, museums and movie thertre. Tokyo Tower (Shiba Park) : Antenna tower until 2012. Beautiful shape. Symbol tower in Tokyo. Recommended night time. Toshi Yoroiduka (Roppongi) : Located in Tokyo Mid Town. Famous sweets shop. Can dine in. Ukai (Shiba Park) : Japanese restaurant specialized for Tofu. Traditional Japanese architecture. Fine dining. Shinjuku Sinjuku Station South gate : many people are coming and going. It never stop. Huge population. Make you sick ;)
Kabuki-cho (Shinjuku Station East gate) : Night life area. Many bars, sexual shops and restaurants. Harajuku, Aoyama, Omotesando Meji Jingu Shrine (Harajuku) : Peaceful place. Yoyogi Park (Yoyogi) : Next to Meiji Jingu. Good for walking. Omotesando Street (Omotesando) : Aoyama Area : Fashionable cafes and clothes shops. Gyoza Ro (Omotesando) : Gyoza restaurant. You can choose pan fried or boiled. Maisen (Aoyama) : Tonkatsu (deep fried pork) restaurant. Marion Crepe (Harajuku) : Harajuku crepe shop. Take away only. Takeshita Dori (Harajuku) : Many casual clothe shops in this street. Omotesando Hills (Omotesando) : Ando Tadao designed architecture. Great quality shops. Evangelion Store Tokyo-01 (Harajuku) : Japanese anime Evangelion s goods shop. You can buy T-shirts, stationary, etc It s located in a back street of Takeshita Dori. Check address and map. Sibuya Hachiko Statue (Shibuya Station) : The statue of the model dog of movie Hachi Love Hotel Slope (Shibuya) : Dogenzaka Slope is true name. There are many love hotels along the slope. Nonbei Yokocho : 3 minutes from east gate of Shibuya station. There are small (micro!!) Izakaya and bars on the side of narrow street. 109 Building (Shibuya) : more than 100 of clothes chops in this building. The centre of Kawaii fashion. Pop culture.
Ebisu, Nakameguro, Museum of Yebisu Beer (Ebisu) : Yebisu Beer is the premium beer of Sapporo beer. This is the museum. You can see the history of Sapporo beer and taste 2 glass of Beer. If you pay, there is tasting bar as well. Tonki (Meguro) : Tonkatsu (deep fried pork) restaurant. LELABO (Daikanyama) : You can make your own perfume. Good for the gift. Tsukiji, Tsukiji market has inside market and outside market. Inside market is more for professional chefs. Many small cars run this area. Outside market is more for tourists. Good for shopping. But good sushi restaurants are located in inside market area. Most of shops are open early morning and closed afternoon. Many sushi shops has their recommended plates at lunch time. If you got lost what to order, it would be better to ask Omakase set (Omakase means to rely on your choice). Daiwa Sushi (Inside market/ Bulding 6) : great sushi Sushi Dai (Inside market/ Building 6) : great sushi Sushisei (Outside market) : great sushi Totitou (Inside market/ Building 8) : Fresh chicken shop. Egg and chicken rice ball or Chicken rice is highly recommended. Sakanaya Iki (Tsukiji) : Seafood Izakaya. Fresh sashimi. Good sake. Chika No Iki (Tsukiji) : Same building of Iki. Basement. Oyster Izakaya. Asakusa Sensoji temple : Terminate of Nakamise Dori. Kaminari Mon gate : Huge red lantern is the trade mark. Nakamise Dori begin from here. Nakamise Dori : Many Japanese sweets shops are along the street. Souvenir shops as well. Tokyo Skytree tower : New antenna tower.
Magurobito : Sushi train. Cheap but good quality. Hatsuogawa : Eel restaurant. Nice and old Japanese restaurant. Irokawa : Eel restaurant. Always top 10 ranking. Owariya : Soba noodle restaurant. Tempura Soba has two big prawn tempura. Namiki Yabu Soba : Soba noodle restaurant. Kappa bashi : One street west from Kokusai Dori (west of Sensoji) Kitchen tools, chef uniforms, foods samples, and pastry ingredients shops. More than 170 shops. Other Places Shin Yokohama Ra-men Museum : About 45 minutes of train from Tokyo station. Cup Noodles Museum : Placed in Yokohama. About 30 minutes of Train from Tokyo station. Tokyo Disney Land : Placed in Urayasu. About 15 minutes by train from Tokyo station.
