HARD ROCK CAFE MELAKA Melaka was discovered by Parameswara in 1401 by accident while he was on a hunting trip. According to the legends, the Prince was resting under an Indian Gooseberry Tree (Pokok Melaka) and one of his hunting dogs trying to bring down a mouse deer, it occurred to him that the deer shared a similar plight to his own: alone, exiled in a foreign land and surrounded by enemies. The mouse deer then achieved the improbable and fought off the dog! Parameswara decided that the place where he was sitting was a propitious one for the disadvantaged and decided build his kingdom. The Sultanates survived until 1511 when the first of many foreign invasions took place when the Portuguese arrived. It was their main trade center until 1641 when the Portuguese surrendered to the Dutch. In 1795 Melaka was given to the British to prevent it from falling in the hands of the French, where The Netherlands was captured during the French Revolution. The British took over Melaka completely until World War 2, where Japanese ruled briefly. Melaka became one of the federated state and gained independence in 1957. The first Hard Rock Cafe opened its doors to the public on June 14, 1971, in London, England. A posh area of Hyde Park, London, across the park from Buckingham Palace. Hard Rock owns the world s greatest collection of music memorabilia, which is displayed at its locations around the globe. Hard Rock is also known for its collectible fashion and music-related merchandises. Hard Rock Cafe Melaka is the first high-end restaurant to embrace the charm of the Melaka City. Located in the famous Jonker Walk, at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Zone. Featuring diverse dining, nightlife and cultural offerings, the 9,000 square feet iconic restaurant is now the city s landmark destination.
LOCATION Hard Rock Cafe Melaka is located in the heart of UNESCO-World Heritage Zone next to Jonker Street by the river within walking distance to tourist attraction such as Stadhuys and A Famosa. Shopping malls like Dataran Pahlawan, Hatten and Mahkota Parade are a mere 105minutes walk away. Parking: Limited parking spaces available below the restaurant which is managed by Secure Parking Management.
