Vineyard density: 5,600 vines/hectare. Mosaico is a Merlot based wine: the powerfulness and roundness of this variety meets the complexity of Cabernet Franc and the character of Petit Verdot. As in a mosaic from afar the picture is clear, but closer up the three varieties of the blend show their identity in steel tanks at 26/28 degrees Celsius. Sponaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine matures for al least 12 months in French oak barrels of second and third use. Finishing in the bottle for 6 months. Bottling without fining nor filtration in order to preserve the integrity of the wine.

This was the first wine that was made at Casa di Terra and has always been a blend of the typical grape varieties of Bolgheri. Vine training systems: cordon spur and guyot. Vineyard density: 6,500-5,500 vines/hectare in stainless steel vats at 26-28 degrees Celsius for 20 days. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine matures for at least 6 months in French oak barriques of third and fourth use. Finishing in the bottle for at least 6 months.

Vermentino IGT Toscana Terre di Lavinia Appellation: TOSCANA IGT Zone: Tuscan coast, Bolgheri and Cecina (province of Livorno) Blend: 100% Vermentino Vineyard age (year of planting): Vermentino 2002,2013 Soil Type: sandy-clayey, skeletal Exposure: south, south-west Colour: Straw yellow with slight golden reflections Nose: Acacia and white flowers, stone fruit and white pepper Flavour: Gentle, lightly structured, sapid and persistent with an overall sensation of freshness Serving temperature ( C): 10-12 Match with: fish hors d oeuvres, rice and pasta dishes with fish and vegetables, fish and white meat dishes Average no. bottles/year: 40,000 Grape yield per hectare tons: 9 Notes: This wine is named after Lavinia, daughter of Giuliano Frollani owner of the estate. Vine training system: guyot and cordon spur. Vineyard density: 5,600 vines/hectare Vinification and ageing: 60% of the grapes are pressend and then fermented in steel tanks at 16 degrees Celsius for 15 days. 40% of the blend is fermented with the skins for 15 days. The wine then matures for 5 months in stainless steel tanks on the lees.

Finishing in the bottle for at least 3 months. Bottling without filtration nor clarification in order to preserve its natural integrity.

Then the vines are deleafed and the rest of the grapes are picked. Vine training system: cordon spur and guyot. Vineyard density: 5,600 vines/hectare Vinification and ageing: 60% of the blend is pressed and then fermented in steel tanks with temperature 16 C for 15 days. 40% of the blend is skin fermented for 15 days and stays on skins for 2 months. The wine matures for 5 months in stainless steel with a prolonged maturation on fermentation lees

Spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine matures for 18 months in French oak barriques of first and second use (medium-high toasting). Finishing in the bottle for 6 months. No filtration nor fining before bottling.

Bolgheri Superiore Casa di Terra Appellation: BOLGHERI SUPERIORE DOC Blend: 100% Cabernet franc Vineyard age (year of planting): Cabernet franc 2004,2005 Soil Type: ferrous clay soils with presence of sand Colour: deep ruby red Nose: Complex, intense, spices, leather, black fruit, smoke, graphite Flavour: Warm and enticing. Velvety tannins, supple, long finish Match with: elaborate red meat dishes, game, seasoned cheese, enjoyed on its own ( meditation wine) Average no. bottles/year: 0 Grape yield per hectare tons: 5.5 Notes: Vine training system: cordon spur. Vineyard density: 5,600 vines/hectare. Vinification and ageing: After 12 hours of cold maceration, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation for 25 days at 26-28 degrees Celsius. The wine matures for 20 months in French oak barriques of a capacity of 225 liters (medium toast). 40% of the barriques are new, 40% are 2nd use and 40% are 3rd use. Finishing in the bottle for 18 months. No filtration nor clarification before bottling.
