V2-2 FormalNavajo BowtieChicken Pasta with TacoSausage featuringand homemade a Green Salad Salsa w/with Banana Vinaigrette (for 4) (for 2) 1 2 First, wash all of your vegetables. Lets start with the fresh salsa. Dice the 1 1/2 Roma tomatoes, dice 1/4 yellow onion, and dice 1/2 the bell pepper after removing the ribs and seeds. Remove the cilantro leaves from the stems in 1/4 cup amount loosely packed, and chop. Add all to a med. bowl. 3 Add all of the juice to the salsa bowl from 1/2 lime by halving it and then squeezing 1/2 until all juice is removed. Do this for 1/4 of the lemon as well. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix all ingredients and place in refrigerator. 4 Now, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Open the crescent rolls and position 1/2 of them on a baking sheet into 2 equal squares. Once the oven is preheated, add crescent dough to the oven and bake for 12 minutes, or until browned. Use a timer. This will be your Navajo bread. 5 Chop the 1/4 head of lettuce and set in a bowl. Dice another 1/8 of the yellow onion. Cut the chicken into strips and then cut again into smaller more bite size pieces. 6 Heat 1/2 Tbs. of olive oil in a frying pan with a lid over medium high heat. Sauté onions for 1-2 minutes and then add chicken pieces. Once chicken is cooked, add 1/8 cup water and 1/2 Tbs. southwest seasoning. Stir together. When chicken is fully cooked, remove chicken from pan, placing a serving bowl. 7 Without rinsing or wiping out the frying pan used for the chicken, add 1/2 can of undrained black beans. Begin cooking these over medium heat. Using a flat slotted spatula, roughly mash the beans. Add 2 packets of sour cream and stir until smooth. 8 Now lets quickly make your fruit smoothies Combine 1 cup soy milk, 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 banana, all frozen strawberries, 2 peeled kiwis, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, and 1 1/2 tsp. agave nectar to a blender. Blend until smooth. Put all ingredient on the table. We suggest building your Navajo taco per the pictures above, 1) the bean spread first, 2) chicken, 3) cheese, 4) lettuce, 5) adding fresh salsa on top of the lettuce and then 6) finishing it off with the sour cream and ranch dressing. Eat remaining salsa with tortilla chips, serve with smoothie and Enjoy!
