YVON MAU Bordeaux, France
Yvon Mau La Passion des Terroir...Founded in Gironde sur Dropt in 1897, the Yvon Mau wine-trading company has joined the very select club of companies that are over one hundred years old. At the beginning of the 20th century, Yvon, the son of the founder, used to make his way around the Entre-Deux-Mers region perched on his bicycle in search of new wines. Thus was born the Bordeaux discoverer. A few years later, the company adopted his name as its identity and his silhouette on a penny farthing as its emblem. Ever loyal to its region and village of origin, the company has grown to become one of the major players in Bordeaux wines. A subsidiary of Spanish group Freixenet (the world s 8th-largest winemaking group) since 2001, Yvon Mau now derives over half of its earnings from exports. Through its brands and château wines, Yvon Mau is now present in 160 countries. Its product line is constantly evolving, adapting its packaging and positioning, and responding fully to consumer expectations.
