DAY 1 Relax into the local environment during the first two days with a choice of easy activities. HAMILTON GARDENS Winner of 2014 award for best international garden. Themed gardens include: Maori, Chinese, Japanese, English, American, Italian, Indian, Tudor, Tropical, Chinoiserie, Herb, Kitchen and many more on the way such as Surrealist, Picturesque, Mansfield and concept. DAY 2 Choose two or three of the following activities. PICKING YOUR OWN FRUIT Pick your own fruit Allow 1 hour - Strawberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Blueberries and Boysenberries according to season. NZ$3 entry fee. Pay for the picked fruit. SAMPLE WINES AT A VINEYARD Sample the wines at the cellar door. HAMILTON ZOO (ANIMAL ENCOUNTER) Chimpanzees, Rhinos, Giraffes, Tigers, walk in aviary of native birds, Lemurs and so much more. ZEALONG TEA PLANTATION 2-hour Zealong tea tour + signature high tea: $85 PP 6-11 years old are $60pp. 5 years old and under are free but not catered for. The plantation produces Oolong and Green tea varieties sold on the market for close to $1000/Kg. Zealong has won world awards for best tea. The restaurant provides high quality cuisine (and tea!) Alternatively, just visit the tea-house without doing the plantation tour WAIKATO RIVER CRUISE The Waikato River is New Zealand s longest river. DAY 3 Discover Middle Earth. WATERFALL WALK Longest waterfall in the North Island. 45 min walk to the base. There are a number of steps to climb. The steps are at the end. DAY 4 (Taupo) Choose to scare yourself or have the more sedate thrills of fishing and bathing. SKYDIVING 60 seconds of free fall. $389 per person BUNGY JUMP Highest water-touch jump in NZ. $169 per person.
JETBOAT RIDE Shoot through narrow canyons, spin on crystal clear waters, spot trout and surf the foaming tail of the rapids. $110 per adult. $60 per child. HOT WATER STREAM BATHING Hot water pools and streams to bathe in. Waterfalls and woodland walks aside the start of the Waikato river. Free. TROUT FISHING $150/hour for an all-weather boat. This is not a price per person. Max 11 people. Allow 4 hours.
DAY 5 (Rotorua) Also start with a scare, if you wish, but learn about Kiwi culture as well. WHITE WATER RAFTING Raft the tallest commercially-rafted waterfall in the world. 2 hours No experience needed. NZ$85 per person. FARM SHOW Watch sheepdog herding sheep and geese. See sheep being sheared. Milk a cow. Feed the baby lambs. And more. We recommend that this is a highly entertaining show. Adult $34.50 Child $18.00.

DAY 6 Have new experiences. Choose active or sedate cave tour. WAITOMO GLOW WORMS CAVE BOAT RIDE Duration: 45 minutes. Price Adult $50, Child 4-14 years $23. BLACK WATER RAFTING WITH RUBBER TUBE Black water rafting with rubber tube 3 hours. Price $138, Minimum age 12. One sub-group can do this while the other does the boat ride and lavender farm.
LAVENDER FARM Flowering time is late November to late January. However, you can visit year round to learn about growing lavender, the oil distillation process and how to make a range of products developed to improve your quality of life. MEAL AT A WESTERN RESTAURANT Experience a 3-course western meal (starter, main dish and dessert).
DAY 7 Shop until you drop. Choose one or two of these activities. LOCAL MARKET On a Saturday or Sunday morning, visit a local market for local produce and products made, grown, and created in New Zealand. Live entertainment.
