Ab o u t Located in Boston s South End neighborhood, Stir, Chef Barbara Lynch s demonstration kitchen and cookbook store, is a special space for food and wine enthusiasts of all levels to explore, taste, and dine in a convivial environment. Space Stir is a perfect space at lunch or dinner for intimate groups, with 250 sq. ft. to accommodate a maximim of ten guests for a demonstration-style event or up to six for a hands-on-cooking event. Our Private Events Manager works closely with each guest to create a customized seasonal menu and an experience tailored to any occasion. Private Events Formats CHEF S TABLE $195 per person A traditional Chef s Table-style event, you and your guests may enjoy a lunch or dinner with your own private chef. The intimate layout of Stir offers you the opportunity to observe and interact with the chefs preparing the meal, asking any questions that may arise during the process. The focus of this menu style is on you and your guests enjoying eachother s company -- sit back, relax, and let us do all the work. Each Chef s Table event includes: Four-course dinner with a customized, seasonal menu DEMONSTRATION DINNER $200 per person Echoing the format of Stir s weekly demonstration classes, watch as the chef prepares dinner. Enjoy step-by-step interactive demonstrations of the various techniques used to create each course while asking questions and picking up cooking tips from the chef. Each Demonstration Dinner includes: Three-course dinner with a customized, seasonal menu Cooking demonstration HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE* $275 per person Roll up your sleeves and tie on an apron for an interactive, hands-on class. Each of you will have your own station set with all of the tools needed to create the evening s menu with the assistance of the chef. While the chef finishes preparing the meal and we transform Stir from a cooking to dining space, you and your guests will travel next door to our sister establishment, The Butcher Shop to relax over wine and antipasti. Then, return to Stir to enjoy the meal you and your guests helped to make. Private Events Formats CHEF S TASTING MENU five courses, $225 per person seven courses, $275 per person The Chef s Tasting Menu offers the unique opportunity to enjoy a customized menu created expressly for your group. Inspired by the season, the chef utilizes carefully sourced, pristine ingredients in each dish. Each Chef s Tasting Menu event includes: Five or seven course meal with a customized, seasonal menu HANDS-ON COOKING FOR TWO* $2,000 Roll up your sleeves and have the Stir space entirely to yourself with a one-on-one cooking experience. Enjoy the luxury of a private handson cooking class for two with the Stir chef. We will create a customized, seasonal menu based on the cooking techniques you re most excited to learn. In between cooking and enjoying your meal, relax at The Butcher Shop over a glass of Lambrusco and snack of cheese and salumi. Each Hands-On For Two Experience includes: Five-course tasting menu Hands-on cooking class that includes private instruction on a variety of cooking techniques that may inclue knife skills, vegetable cookery, sauces & purées, pasta making, butchery (meat & seafood), baking & pastry, and preservation Antipasti and Lambrusco at The Butcher Shop A collection of the recipes featured on your menu SUPPLEMENTS To supplement you menu: Add a course $25 per person Perhaps you would love to learn how to make pasta from scratch, or discover the proper technique for shucking an oyster. Enhance your meal with an interactive experience and an additional course. Wine Program A complete gastronomic experience includes thoughtful beverage pairings. Lead by Executive Wine Director, Cat Silirie, the team at Stir draws upon the celebrated wine lists of our sister establishments No. 9 Park, B&G Oysters, The Butcher Shop, Sportello, and Menton. Cat s approach to each wine program revolves around creating symphonious pairings with the cuisine and seeking out the finest artisan wine producers. How to Plan an Event We encourage scheduling your event at least ten weeks prior to the desired date as we release our Stir class schedule is released two months in advance. Our dedicated Private Events Manager works closely with each guest to create a unique and memorable experience.
