Pear Peanut butter* Apple slices Almond slivers Toothpicks Pear Birdie Using peanut butter, attach raisins to the pear for eyes. Use toothpicks to attach apple slices as wings. Push almond slivers into pear to make a beak. *Be aware of allergies present at your school Recipe adapted from http://awhiskandtwowands.com/pear-birdie/ Carrots Strawberries Plain or vanilla yogurt Orange food colouring Wax paper Place a sheet of wax paper on a plate. Mix a few drops of orange food colouring into the yogurt. Dip the strawberries in yogurt, place on wax paper and place in freezer for about 20 minutes or until they set. Re-dip them in yogurt to get a thick coat and freeze for another 20 minutes or until you are ready to eat them. You can leave them in longer and serve as a frozen treat! Orange Yogurt, white in color (vanilla or plain) Cantaloupe, mango, orange or banana Egg-cellent Yogurt Snacks Slice orange in half and hollow out. Carve zigzag edges or leave straight edges to avoid spilling. Fill half way with yogurt. Drop a piece of cantaloupe, mango, orange or banana in the center to create the yolk. Place the cups inside the pots if using. Using a toothpick, poke a hole in the top of each baby carrot. Push a sprig of parsley into each hole. Place carrots in the hummus, as seen in the picture. Baby Chicks 6 Hard-boiled eggs, shelled 3 tbsp mayonnaise 1 tsp honey mustard, dried plums, or olives Carrot Cut the top quarter of the eggs off. Carefully remove the yolks and place in a bowl. Mash the egg yolks. Combine with mayonnaise and honey mustard. Place the egg yolk mixture in a plastic sandwich bag. Seal the bag and snip off one bottom corner. Squeeze an equal amount of the mixture into the larger of each egg white. Add the eyes using bits of raisins, dried plum or olives and beak with a sliver of carrot and top with the remaining egg white hat. Vanilla yogurt Strawberry yogurt Red apple Bunny cookie cutter or bunny outline drawn on wax paper Easter Pops Strawberry Almond slivers Popsicle sticks Line pan with wax paper. Draw around the bunny cut out or cookie cutter. Flip the paper over. Put the yogurt in a baggie and snip off the edge. Pipe the vanilla yogurt inside the bunny shapes and strawberry yogurt inside the ears. Attach slivers of red apple for the whiskers, raisins for the eyes, strawberry for the nose, and almond slivers for the teeth. Place popsicle sticks in the bottom and smooth the yogurt on top using a knife. Place them in the freezer for about 20 minutes or until ready to serve.
