Today is your introduction to François Thibault, he will take you through the unique processes and attention to detail that goes into each bottle of Grey Goose. It is due to François determination and obsession with quality that Grey Goose has achieved its Global recognition. The son of a wine grower, François, was fascinated with the craft of making fine wines and spirits from an early age. A passion that led him to develop his extensive technical knowledge of spirits, and create Grey Goose vodka. Stroll through the picturesque vineyards with François and learn about what makes this region the best terroir - from the spring water naturally filtered through limestones to the grapes used to create fine Cognac. Return indoors to join François in the chai where he will tell his personal story of how he became a Maître-de-Chai - an acclaimed title reflecting his years of apprenticeship within the finest Cognac houses. Visit the Picardie Room, designed to resemble a mill and learn about the famous wheat that is used to make the vodka. Touch and smell the wheat as you hear about its provenance and the craftsmen who make it all possible. The soft winter wheat is Page 4
supplied exclusively by three local farming co-operatives. This ensures a continuity of operation - from sowing the wheat seed in the fields to the delivery of the wheat in perfect condition to the distillery. An invitation into François atelier will allow you to gain a deeper understanding of the nuances of flavour in each of the expressions from the house of Grey Goose and what gives each its character. Much like the best chefs of France, François believes that without the finest ingredients you cannot hope to produce the finest vodka. It is here that we will explain through a series of tastings, the process that makes Grey Goose so distinctive. You will have the chance to sample Grey Goose VX: Vodka Exceptionelle, a combination of Grey Goose vodka with a hint of precious cognac, made using grapes grown at Le Logis, to create a masterfully mixed spirit like no other. Enjoy a break on the terrace, for a relaxed buffet-style lunch served alongside Le Grand Fizz and reflect on everything you have learnt. After lunch, you will be invited to join a local baker for a handson experience in artisanal baking. You will be shown how to make your very own French loaf in a working boulangerie that will be served at breakfast the following day. Once you ve mastered the art of bread-making, you can design your own bespoke masterpiece; perhaps a bread heart an épis or baguette? These will be baked and served during dinner. This afternoon has been left free for you to spend as you wish. Recline by the pool or in one of the elegant salons in comfort, or enjoy a game of pétanque in the courtyard. Alternatively, go on a leisurely walk through the gardens, planted with luscious fruits and herbs indigenous to the local countryside. In the evening, join le Logis mixologist and Brand Ambassador for a bespoke mixology session. Learn the skills of crafting the perfect cocktail, from ideal serving temperatures to the intricacies of mixers. Whatever your favourite cocktail, he will demonstrate how to create the perfect summer drink that pays tribute to the flavours of Grey Goose. You will leave this hands-on class a cocktail-making pro. Grey Goose Ambassadors travel the world attending the most glamorous events, fixing cocktails for film stars, VIPs and models, from small, intimate private events to huge global red carpet soirées. You might even persuade them to tell a few tales of some of the wonderful places they ve been. Afterwards, join the other guests in the dining room for a formal three-course dinner. Here, local chefs with their vast knowledge and experience will showcase the natural bounty that this region is famous for. Over dinner, specially designed cocktails De Vin Page 5
will accompany a fine meal. These light wine-style cocktails have been created to be enjoyed with food in the same way that different wines are paired with different courses. After dinner try an espresso martini to complete your dining experience.
