ALMA CALIENTE Prodotti Stella is following Le vie dell eccellenza in a new direction and heading to the Caribbean: a place with a flourishing natural environment, exotic landscapes with rich colours and enveloping aromas. The new Vie dell Eccellenza flavour was inspired by Santo Domingo and Mama Juana, a traditional local alcoholic drink which is made in an artisan process. 2
Flor del Caribe is a selection of ingredients from Santo Domingo: dark rum, honey, herbs and roots, which are the elements to produce a traditional liqueur, thought to be a sort of aphrodisiac from the inhabitants of the Caribbean Island: Mama Juana. To make the recipe even more delicious and original, alongside magnificent cocoa from Santo Domingo, Prodotti Stella has added star anise, which is one of the spices that are frequently used in Mama Juana. It consists of a shortcrust pastry or pâte brisée shell filled with custard containing blended pumpkin, eggs, cream, sugar and spices: nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. It is traditionally served with whipped cream. It is also a favourite for Halloween parties because it contains pumpkin. Prodotti Stella has drawn on the traditions of this distinctive pie and created a complete powdered product to use with milk and cream.
