Nothing compares to homegrown, tree-ripened fruit, and fruit trees are one of our specialties! We carry early, mid-season, and late season varieties in each fruit category. Try the Backyard Orchard Culture technique of planting multiple trees (an early, a mid, and a late variety) in one hole, and enjoy a summer-long harvest! Look for the color codes (green/pink/ tan = early/mid/late). These fruit trees arrive each January. The following varieties are expected for 2011. Please call for current availability. APRIUMS, PLUOTS, NECTAPLUMS These fruits are complex hybrids of apricots, peaches, nectarines, and plums. The complex, intense flavor of both the Aprium and the Pluot is unique to interspecifics, much like a blend of fruit juices where the mixture is an improvement over any of the separate ingredients. Additionally, the sugar content of interspecifics is much higher than in standard plums or apricots, yielding fruit of incomparable sweetness. Dave Wilson Nursery FLAVOR DELIGHT APRIUM Apricot plum hybrid. Resembles an apricot, but with a distinctive flavor and texture all its own. High scoring in taste tests. One of the most flavorful early season fruits. Chilling <300 hours. Self fruitful, but biggest crops if pollinated by any apricot. Early June SPICE ZEE NECTAPLUM Nectarine plum hybrid. Vigorous and productive tree with red foliage. Fruits are medium sized, pink skinned with the sweet flavors of both parents. Chilling <500. Self fruitful EMERALD DROP PLUOT Plum apricot hybrid. Medium to large fruit with green skin and yelloworange flesh. Sweet and juicy with firm flesh. Very productive once established. Holds well on the tree. Chilling <400 hours. Pollinated by Flavor Grenade Pluot or Santa Rosa Plum. FLAVOR GRENADE PLUOT Plum apricot hybrid. Elongated green fruit with a red blush. Crisp texture and explosive flavor. Taste test winner. Holds well on the tree. Chilling <300-400. Pollinated by Flavor King Pluot, Dapple Dandy Pluot, Emerald Drop Pluot, or Santa Rosa Plum. SPLASH PLUOT Plum apricot hybrid. Small to medium sized orange fruit with very sweet orange flesh. Excellent fresh or dried. Upright tree sets large crops when established. Chilling <400 hours. Pollinated by Santa Rosa Plum or Flavor Grenade Pluot. APPLES Mid-July September 1 Pictures courtesy of Dave Wilson Nursery Ganter Nursery 2017
