Nothing compares to homegrown, tree-ripened fruit, and fruit trees are one of our specialties! We carry early, mid-season, and late season varieties in each fruit category. Try the Backyard Orchard Culture technique of planting multiple trees (an early, a mid, and a late variety) in one hole, and enjoy a summer-long harvest! Look for the color codes (green/pink/ tan = early/mid/late). These fruit trees arrive each January. The following varieties are expected for 2011. Please call for current availability. APRIUMS, PLUOTS, NECTAPLUMS These fruits are complex hybrids of apricots, peaches, nectarines, and plums. The complex, intense flavor of both the Aprium and the Pluot is unique to interspecifics, much like a blend of fruit juices where the mixture is an improvement over any of the separate ingredients. Additionally, the sugar content of interspecifics is much higher than in standard plums or apricots, yielding fruit of incomparable sweetness.
