Located in the heart of the city The Duke of York Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Adelaide. The Duke has many original features still intact as it is a heritage listed venue (est 1857). Under new owners since late 2015 The Duke has undergone some renovations in the Front Area & Dining Room. It also has one of the largest beer gardens in Adelaide, with coverage to ensure it can be used all year round. The venue can be hired 7 days a week however some areas may have higher room hire charges on Friday, Saturday, Sundays & Public Holidays. DRESSCODE All clothes must be neat & clean, irrespective of current trends. DECORATIONS & SIGNAGE Decorations are allowed provided they are not screwed, nailed or adhered to any wall, door or surface. Signage must be approved by The Duke prior to event. No Scatters or Glitters can be used, otherwise extra charges will apply. SECURITY Any 18ths require 3 guards or any functions over 100 people will require a security guard at the cost of the organizer. DAMAGES The organizers are financially responsible for any breakages/damages sustained to The Duke by the organizer or their guests attending the event. We do not accept responsibility for the damage or loss of merchandise left prior to, during & after the event. CONFIRMATIONS Confirmation of an event will occur when a $250 deposit is received within 7 days of initial reservation. Tentative bookings will be held for 7 days after which the space reserved becomes available again. Final details including numbers & food & beverage selections must be made 10 days prior to event including any dietary requirements. Any decreases after could still incur charges. No BYO is permitted. CANCELLATIONS If given 30 days notice of your cancellation 100% deposit will be returned. If within 15-29 days you will receive 50% back & if less than 14 days notice we will keep deposit due to loss of business. LIQUOR LICENSING The Duke reserves the right to remove any person from the venue in accordance to the Liquor Licensing Act. A respectable amount of food needs to be purchased to meet liquor licensing requirements for a private event. All guests must have photo ID to be served alcohol, any guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and may not be on premise after 10pm. The Duke takes no responsibility or liability for any events or acts which may cause effect on any event.
