TRIP 1 THURSDAY APRIL THE 13 TH FLORENCE: Our bus will drop-off the group in Via Della Dogana, which is at about 15 minutes of walking distance to the Synagogue; Introduction to Florence history and visit to the beautiful Synagogue and Jewish Museum. Walking tour to the city center to discover the unexpected presence of Jewish history in some of the most famous landmarks such as Duomo area (outdoor) and Gates of Paradise with Tanach stories, Piazza della Repubblica where the ghetto once stood, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio area where Via dei Giudei (the Jews street ) was. Free time for lunch, shopping and individual visits to museums in the afternoon. TRIP 2 FRIDAY APRIL THE 14 TH Wine Tour in Terra di seta & Siena WINE TOUR Tuscany is pairing with wine, which is why we offer you the opportunity to visit one of the famous winery of Tuscany. Terra di Seta is a kosher winery, well-known for the quality of their wines. It will be given a tasting tour of about 1-1.5 hours. Owners or staff will accompany guests to the vineyard and the winery to explain the production of wine from the wine grapes, linked to the Tuscan wine culture, the organic procedures and kosher rules. In addition, you can taste Terra di Seta products (wine, honey and olive oil), served with a kosher appetizer. Once this visit will be ended, the lunch will take place, with your Packet Lunch provided by EJ, in the green of the winery. Siena After we have left Terra di Seta, you will visit the beauty of the historical city of Siena: The meeting with the guide, Federica OLLA, will be at Porta Romana and you will start walking in the little narrow streets of the medieval town. You will enjoy nice views and palaces. Then you will enter the Jewish ghetto, established in Siena in 1572 by the Grand Duke Cosimo de' Medici, cross it, explaining how it was, and find the beautiful synagogue, built in 1786, that is hidden in a medieval palace: an apparently very simple building hides a richly decorated baroque temple. After the visit of the old synagogue, you will approach the city heart, the geographical centre, market and political head quarter: the famous Campo Square. There, the guide will talk about its history, its activity and its most famous event, that is to say the Palio horse race. TRIP 3 SUNDAY APRIL 16 TH Pitigliano (THE LITTLE JERUSALEM) & Sovana, PITIGLIANO The world-known historical Jewish city of Pitigliano will be visited with the Jewish Tour s guide Raffaella Agresti, starting by Via S. Chiara, the big arch. You will have a walk tour of the old town of Pitigliano pointing out at the main monuments such as the Aqueduct, the Orsini Palace... Walking through the small lanes of the old town we will reach the Jewish Quarter where you will visit the Mikve, the Kosher wine cellar, the Bakery and the small Museum. At the end of the tour we will see the Synagogue where you will have your packet lunch, in the Synagogue s public square. SOVANA Since you are in Tuscany for this Pesach, a visit to a typical medieval Tuscany s village is a must. That s why we are offering you the trip to Sovana, a very characteristic little town.
