A few words about the history of beer in Germany In the year 1516 the Bavarian Duke Wilhelm IV issued in Ingolstadt, beer purity law, which since 1919 with minor modifications is used for the whole of Germany. It states that the brewing process can be used only four basic components: malted barley, hops, water and yeast.
