Introduction to Proposal on Starbucks Espresso Machine This rewrite manual will help simplify the process of using the Barista espresso machine. The manual will have readable detailed instructions and safety direction to help the customer navigate effectively. This project to improve upon the manual will take 2 weeks, cost $2500 dollars, and will be finished by March 31st. This proposal will rewrite the Starbucks Espresso machine manual. Tell the reader what you are writing about. Problems for Starbucks Coffee Company Starbucks Espresso Machine Manual has the following problems: Difficult to read Poorly organized Lacks visual aids The customer will have a difficult time reading a manual with continuous block texts, and negative language. On page 3 of the manual, under "W amings", there is a lack of white space, and block text that will make it difficult for the customer to understand the important safety instructions. This can lead to possible injury of customer increasing the risk of lawsuits. On page 2 of the safety manual there is block text to describe important safeguards. The lack of white space, describing important safeguards can lead to damage on the espresso machine which will cause the company to spend more on repairing warranties. The poor organization of the manual will lead to customer confusion, injury, and a possible loss of revenue. The customer will find difficulty navigating the manual due to lack of content indicator, increasing time for product malfunctions to occur. Poor organization of content will also lead to a disregard for certain information due to extra effort placed upon searching for solutions rather than following them. Safety hazards, product safeguards, and product warranty and technical difficulty paragraphs placed adjacent can take away from their importance. This can lead to reader information binge, decreasing retention. Describe problem 2 ( 4 sentences) '\, There is a lack of visual images between texts to reinforce the instructions. The blocks of text do not have enough example~ or images to demonstrate directions. This will terribly limit your company's audience, and can cause more complications since the reader does not have a direct image to follow. Images also serve as breaks between the blocks of texts, effectively increasing the attention span of the reader. This will lead to simplified directions, and a reassured customer. 1
Solution to Starbucks Espresso Machine Manual My manual on Starbucks Espresso machine will help solve the following problems: Difficult to read Poorly organized Lacks visual aids By using numbered lists I will eliminate large blocks of text and create white space to make the reader more comfortable with the content. I will spread out the block text to increase reader intake of safeguards and to increase attention to certain areas. The inclusion of a table of contents within the first page of the manual can simplify, and enhance customer navigation. Placing the welcome and product satisfaction paragraph in the beginning of the manual will increase customer excitement, comfort, and positivity. Including visual aid can cater to a different audience, broadening your viewer understanding. Visual aids also act to zoom in, or clarify important safety directions. This document can have more images demonstrating important steps to aid the visual learner.
