HISTORY The history of the Pomella family in cheesemaking began in 1929 in the heart of the Italian region known as "Ciociaria", a rich and fertile area around and including the province of Frosinone. The first family dairy plant used precious water buffalo milk which, together with the hands of the experienced "Cheese-Masters" began producing "unique" Mozzarella di Bufala DOP using the traditional methods used by generations of cheese makers. These methods are still used today when making both Mozzarella and other traditional fresh Italian cheese. Europomella S.p.A. was founded in December 2003 by the International Investment Financial Group Investor J.S.C. of Kharkov with the aim of acquiring the Production and trading Branch of the family owned Pomella S.p.A.. The President of the Board of Directors is Gennady Gayevoy and the Managing Director is Ashot Amiryan, who manages the company with the support of the former management team and Mr. Gerardo Cinque who manages the International Division. The modern production plant covers in excess of 3,630m 2 near the town of Ferentino, Frosinone.

IQF TECHNOLOGY Individual Quick Frozen is a freezing technique that maintains both the taste and texture of food products by exposing them to very low temperatures for just a few moments. This prevents the grouping of water molecules and the breakage of their cellular structure which causes the expansion that occurs when using more traditional methods, thereby preventing the deterioration in taste that usually follows freezing. SHELF-LIFE A product that has been frozen using the IQF technique can be stored for up to 12 months, eliminating the need to monitor expiry dates. SAVING TIME AND MONEY Europomella cheeses are ready for use in that each product is available pre-cut into different formats, from large blocks to fine slices. DEFROSTING PERIOD Due to the small dimensions of each individual product, the defrosting process is completed within 1-2 hours at room temperature. EUROPOMELLA is committed to entering new international markets, offering the very best of frozen Italian foodstuffs. A highly advanced freezing technique allows fresh cheeses such as mozzarella and ricotta to be consumed at any moment in any place as if it were made the same day! ZERO WASTE Due to the simple system of small portions, the exact amount required can be defrosted and consumed whilst conserving absolute freshness, ensuring minimal product loss. BETTER COST CONTROL Each product is individually frozen, meaning that costs can be contained down to each single serving. FRESHNESS Each Europomella cheese that has been frozen using the IQF method preserves its original quality in terms of taste, texture and appearance. The technique also eliminates the need of draining the water which is normally produced with more traditional processes.

TRACEABILITY Europomella has developed a system which identifies and traces product lots which is also applied to all raw materials (including packaging materials and processing aids), all processing stages and the shipment of the finished product to the final customer The traceability policy is currently tested every six months during internal audits and an archive is maintained The approvals procedure for suppliers includes criteria for initial acceptance and on-going approval checks based on risk assessment. This procedure includes raw materials, packaging and services Milk suppliers are required to sign an annual specification contract which is then approved by the Consortium of Buffalo Milk Other raw material suppliers considered critical such as rennet, starter, salt and food contact packaging are assessed using a food safety questionnaire which is evaluated and approved by Europomella The company procedures detail an emergency procedure for minimum acceptable requirements Europomella tests its traceability system to ensure as to its efficiency in determining the process from raw materials to finished product and includes quantity checks and mass balance. This occurs at a predetermined frequency and the results are archived for future inspections The company is certified by the Consortium of Buffalo Milk and segregation and scheduling procedures are put in place to maintain the preservation of identity. Each batch of finished product is checked for presence of sheep and cow s milk. Incoming milk is always checked for authenticity.
