FOOD: Circus has several options available when it comes to catering for your event. You are welcome to bring your own food, or you can order from our external catering service (see menu below). VENUE HIRE FEE: There is no venue hire fee. MINIMUM SPENDS: Circus Bar requires a minimum drink spend for all events. These minimum spends are negotiable depending on the time and date of your function, as well as the number of guests in attendance. The minimum spend is $3000 (for either the Main Bar, Balcony or entire venue.) This spend is seasonal and is subject to variation depending on demand. November and December functions attract a higher minimum spend, as do functions hosted on nights where the nightclub would not normally open. The minimum spend can be implemented in a number of ways either as a pre arranged tab at the bar (recommended), pre purchased drink cards for your guests, or at a per drink rate. If you purchase food from the Circus Canapés Menu, 30% of this total will also contribute towards your minimum spend. BAR TAB: Tabs are very common for functions and usually the least complicated option. We would keep track of the drink costs and alert you when the tab has reached its limit. DRINK CARDS: Purchased on arrival, Circus Bar would issue you with the drink cards equalling your bar tab. You are then free to distribute these at your discretion. Drink cards are authorized for the night of your event only. CASH BAR: This option is best when asking your guests to purchase their own drinks. We would alert you once the minimum spend has been reached. Alternatively, if the total at the end of your event falls short of the agreed minimum spend, we will ask you to pay the difference prior to leaving the premises. GUEST LISTS: Functions: A door fee will not be charged for any function guest entering the venue before 11pm. Any function guest who enters the venue after it has opened to the public (11pm) a discounted door charge is required. DOOR LISTS: If you have a small budget and would like Circus to cater for a group of your friends but do not require a private space then a door list is probably the best option for you. Circus Bar can arrange a list under your name which your guests are entitled to use for discounted entry. It is important to note that we can never 100% guarantee entry. All guests must meet standard venue requirements, present appropriate identification and not be intoxicated on arrival. ENTERTAINMENT: Music: Circus Bar boasts 2 separate DJ stations, for your convenience. Main Bar and Balcony areas are able to be separated. You are welcome to bring your own DJ at no extra costs, or ask your Circus Bar event planner to recommend some of our in house DJs (for an additional fee). Circus Bar also has ipod facilities available. TERMS AND CONDITIONS TENTATIVE BOOKINGS Due to popular demand Circus does not hold dates for clients without a deposit. We will however endeavour to inform you if you have expressed strong interest in a particular date and another client wishes to book it. BOOKINGS AND CONFIRMATION To confirm your booking we require a deposit within 7 days of receiving your terms and conditions form. Bookings are not confirmed until such time that a deposit is paid. If the deposit is not received at least 7 days after terms and conditions form is sent out then we reserve the right to release the date to other prospective clients (we will inform you if this is to be the case). DEPOSIT A deposit amount of $300 is required within 7 days of booking your function. The deposit will be taken off the full amount of the bill at the end of the night of your function. PAYMENT Circus accepts payment in Cash, Cheque, Eftpos or Credit Card. Unfortunately we cannot accept AMEX. Internet banking can also be arranged. RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL All staff at Circus are trained in the Liquor Licensing accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol and by law may refuse to serve alcohol to any person that is deemed intoxicated. DAMAGE In the event that any furniture or any other part of the venue is purposely or foolishly damaged, the cost of repairs will be forwarded to the person responsible for the function or a negotiated amount added to the function invoice at the completion of the function. LOST PROPERTY Circus will not accept responsibility for any damage or loss of property left on the premises prior, during or after the function. This responsibility lies solely with the client. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY The Client is required to inform all relevant personnel involved in the organising of the function of these terms and conditions. CHILDREN Children are allowed on the premises for a function up until 9.30pm and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian CANCELLATION Should your event be cancelled within 28 days of the function date all deposits shall remain the property of Circus. Should your function be cancelled in less than 14 days, the client will forfeit their deposit and be liable for half the minimum spend quoted.
