vaio armaron in wine spectator s top 10 at new york wine experience Vaio Armaron Amarone Classico Serego Alighieri, declared one of the 10 best wines in the world by Wine Spectator, was in the news last week at the New York Wine Experience. This Amarone, produced on the historic Château estate owned by the Counts Serego Alighieri, was presented at the New York Wine Experience by Raffaele Boscaini as part of Wine Spectator's Top 10 Wine tasting, the most sought-after tasting for international wine professionals and enthusiasts in the annual exhibition of wines put on by the famous American magazine to celebrate international wine excellence. For years, coming to the NYWE has been a must for Masi; we have always been selected as participants, proving how essential Amarone has become to the top table of wine. Now we are even more honoured that a wine from the Triveneto has been selected as one of the top wines in the world and Masi has been celebrated by Wine Spectator experts for outstanding consistency of quality, concludes Raffaele Boscaini masinews november 2016 page 2/5
campolongo di torbe 2009 in james suckling s top 100 Masi Campolongo di Torbe Amarone Classico 2009 Cantina Privata Boscaini is one of the 100 best wines in the world. This prestigious verdict comes from James Suckling, one of the most influential journalists and wine critics in the world, who ranks Masi s wine at number 59 in his classification, the first of only two wines from the Veneto in The top wines of 2016 list. No fewer than 10,000 wines were tasted by Suckling to compile the list and 26 Italian wines made it to the top, including 11 from Tuscany, 9 from Piedmont, and, as we mentioned, 2 from the Veneto. For Raffaele Boscaini, Marketing Director of Masi: The success of Campolongo di Torbe 2009 in Suckling s list is validation for the idea of cru wines that Masi pioneered in Italy starting in the 1950s, having realised even then the quality potential for wines coming from a single vineyard. The cru for this Amarone dates back to 1958 and is the ultimate expression of one of the finest terroirs of Valpolicella Classica. This wine belongs to our 'liquid treasures collection', the Cantina Privata Boscaini, together with other crus such as Mazzano, produced in limited quantities and only in the best vintages jet cup 2016 The 10th edition of the Jet Cup, the competition to find the best sommelier for Italian wine in Japan, has just finished at the Italian Institute for Culture in Tokyo. The winner is Wataru Yano, sommelier at the famous La Tenda Rossa restaurant in Yokohama. After having passed the written test, he did exceptionally well in the blind tasting and distinguished himself with his professionality and his rare talent for entertaining the audience in the room. We are very pleased that Wataru Yano has joined the band of winners of this prize. Great seriousness and depth of knowledge combined with a lighthearted touch to successfully communicate the profundity and appeal of Italy s greatest wines, said Alessandra Boscaini, Commercial Director of Masi Agricola. Promoted by our importer for Japan, Japan Europe Trading, the Jet Cup acquires even greater prestige every year, becoming a reference point for the world of wine on the Japanese market. This year was marked by the high standard of the candidates, and as many as 123 professionals from all over Japan took part in the primary selection process masinews november 2016 page 3/5
sandro boscaini made cavaliere del lavoro in rome Sandro Boscaini, President of Masi, and appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro this June, received his award For Merit at Work from the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, today. Sandro Boscaini said: This is a particularly welcome award for me because it s the highest honour a businessman can receive in Italy. Personally, I have received other awards that have been extremely prestigious, but I must say this one is one that appeals to me particularly, because it s not just recognition for what I ve done personally in a long career, what my family has done and the achievements that we ve had at Masi, but it s something even wider. It s a tribute to our Amarone, to our Valpolicella and to all the Veneto in general, its values and its people. Valpolicella and the Veneto have had a fundamental importance in the development of the Italian wine sector. If you think of the value of the production of Pinot Grigio, Prosecco and Amarone, with the Valpolicella wine system, there is no doubt that these wines are the driving force of our economy. I consider the nomination as Cavaliere as a spur, an incentive not just to maintain the current position, which won t be easy because of fierce foreign competition, but also to keep quality at the fore, to work as a team and to give maximum attention to product control, so as to be able to guarantee excellence in what we produce project rafcycle Our support for Project Rafcycle continues, enabling us to recycle the silicone paper backing for our wine labels. Samples are collected, milled, stripped of silicone, and then turned into cellulose and paper to be re-used in the paper production process. The photo shows Director of Project Rafcycle, Mr. Juha Virmavirta, awarding Ing. Bruno Boscaini the certificate that attests to the continuing operation of this programme. Over the last three years we have sent 600 quintals of silicone paper for recycling, an average of 200 quintals per year. More information, please visit: Masigreen.com masinews november 2016 page 4/5
masi investor club, a new project Headed by the Chairman Sandro Boscaini, Masi Agricola listed on AIM Italia since 30 June 2015 is once again pioneering a new approach to the finance industry. The new project Masi Investor Club seeks to combine finance and the passion for wine by offering a first-hand experience of the Masi world to existing and potential shareholders, catering not only to their financial interest but also to their desire to see in person how a wine company operates, living its values and world-class standards. The Masi Investor Club is the first initiative of its kind in Italy. It is open to retail and professional investors owning at least 1000 Masi shares, who will have the opportunity to benefit from their investment in the company not only in financial terms, but also through a hands-on experience in the world of premium winemaking. Masi is a medium/long-term investment that moves to the rhythm of nature and is based on secure, tangible assets: wines, vineyards, cellars, a prestigious brand, and an international distribution network. Masi Investor Club will allow shareholders to see this world up close and experience it in person. Sandro Boscaini, Chairman of Masi Agricola, said: With Masi Investor Club, we sought to create something unprecedented for the financial community, thanks to the humanistic touch that only wine can bring. We like the idea of offering the members of our Club the opportunity to feel part of a family a group of friends where you can visit, experience first-hand, and savour what Masi Agricola stands for. This goes beyond the value of the investment per se. Starting today, our shareholders will be able to learn more about our world the world of wine and of the Masi brand, which is tied to the land, the rhythm of nature, and the culture of the Triveneto region. Federico Girotto, Managing Director of Masi Agricola, added: We saw tremendous interest from several representatives of the finance industry, professionals, and the business community in the world of wine and its values. This interest often leads to a direct investment in plots of land or cellars, but usually struggles to become more than a hobby. By investing in Masi, you own part of a well-organised cellar that operates to world-class standards and has an established brand. Masi Investor Club turns this concept into a real experience. Participants will be able to choose from several opportunities related to the world of wine as well as the values of the historical Masi brand and the Triveneto region. There will be events dedicated to the wine and food culture, wine collections, wine tourism, and local art and culture. The first of these special opportunities was held on 1 October 2016, when the company invited investors to attend the signing of the barrel and visit the backstage of the 35 th Masi Prize. Masi Investor Club members will receive a personal card and exclusive access to the Club's website Masinews 9/2016. News november 2016. In-house publication by Masi Communications.
