WHAT S IT GOING TO COST? The total cost is determined by the options and services you select in the following pages. Believe it or not, there s no actual rental fee. FOOD AND BEVERAGE MINIMUMS Fridays and Saturdays: Food and Beverage Minimum: $5,000 for a six (6) hour period Additional Hours: $150 per hour If the full day is required for decorating, the food and beverage minimum will be $7,000 Weekday Evenings: Food and Beverage Minimum: $2,000 for a three (3) hour period Additional Hours: $150 per hour If the food and beverage minimum is not reached as listed above, the difference between the final sales of all food and beverage purchased during your event and the food and beverage minimum will be charged as a room fee. MENU SELECTIONS (Continued) A fourth entrée will incur an increase in pricing for all entrees served. It is the client s responsibility to provide escort cards for all guests that clearly indicate the meal choice for each guest. A final guest count is due seven (7) days prior to the event. If no final guest count is received, the guest count given at the time of booking will be used. We will make every effort to accommodate any last minute increase in guest counts. Decreases in guest count are not allowed within five (5) days of the event. TASTINGS Tastings are available after you have booked your event. We offer two complimentary entrees or four complimentary hors d oeuvres. You may order additional items at full price for your tasting. Please set up your tasting two (2) weeks in advance of your preferred tasting date. FOOD AND BEER POLICIES Surly s event center is in our brewery, and as such, due to Minnesota law, we can only serve our own beer. Our really, really good beer. You may not bring wine, spirits, or any other kind of alcohol in to your event. With the exception of specialty cakes and desserts, no outside food or beverage is allowed. Absolutely no flasks, wine bottles or any kind of alcohol may be brought in to the building. If outside alcohol is discovered in the possession of a guest, the contents will be disposed of. All food is made in house and must be consumed in house. In accordance with the State of Minnesota health codes, no food or beverage can be packed up for takeout. WEDDING CAKES AND DESSERTS We have a talented pastry chef staffed to provide our clientele with any kind of dessert and wedding cakes. Please speak to your event coordinator about specific dessert décor needs and options. LINENS Linen rental is $150. Linen options include black, white, ivory or a colored napkin option. CENTERPIECES We have several basic centerpiece options available for no charge. Specialty centerpieces are available for rent at $10 per table. STUFF YOU CAN T DO You may not affix anything to the walls, floors, or ceilings, unless a pre-approved vendor does it. CEREMONY PACKAGE FEE This package includes an arch, high top tables, décor alongside the arch and chairs for immediate family. $300 $300 $300 AUDIO/VISUAL EQUIPMENT Scheid Hall is equipped with a state-of-the-art A/V setup. Our sound system is available to play background music and use the house microphone. Live bands and DJs must provide their own equipment and staging. The A/V fee is $175 and includes the following: HD projector with 130 screen Presentation podium with touch screen system control, Microsoft Windows computer with MS Office and Blu-ray/DVD player Two wireless microphones In-ceiling amplified speaker system VGA and Mini Display Port video inputs with audio Wi-Fi access SECURITY All wedding receptions must have security present for the duration of the event. OUTSIDE VENDORS Surly Brewing allows outside vendors (DJs, florists, up lighting designers, decorators, etc.). We have preferred vendors that we can tell you about. Please discuss your needs with your event sales coordinator. DEPOSIT A $500 deposit is required to book a Friday or Saturday event and is due upon signing the contract. The $500 deposit will be applied towards your final payment. The payment for a Friday or Saturday event is due five (5) days prior to the event. Surly reserves the right to charge the credit card on file for any damages that occur during your event. Payments may be made earlier than five (5) days prior to the event. Events held Sunday to Thursday do not require a deposit or pre-payment UNLESS the contracted total of the event exceeds $7,000. Cash and credit cards are accepted. The pricing on food and beverage is guaranteed 60 days prior to your event. CANCELLATIONS If you cancel at least 60 days before your event, you will be refunded your full deposit and not charged a cancellation fee. Cancellation fees are incurred if you cancel within 30 days of the event itself. In this instance, we will retain the $500 deposit in lieu of a cancellation fee. Cancelling within 10 days of the event will result in a $750 cancellation fee and no deposit refund. Cancellations that are done within 5 days of the event, the full amount of the contracted food and beverage will be charged to the credit card on file, along with all applicable service charges and taxes. SERVICE CHARGES A 20% service charge will be applied to all food and beverage functions. The tax rate is 7.775% for food and nonalcoholic beverages and 10.25% for beer. The service charge, rentals, security fee, clean up fees, set up fees and ceremony fee are all subject to Minnesota state tax of 7.775%. CONTRACT AND LEGAL STUFF A signed contract and credit card number is due upon booking your event. Another contract will be created and signed with all agreed upon itemized options and services. This final signed contract will determine the final bill and details of your event. Client/organization agrees to protect, indemnify, defend and hold harmless Surly Brewing and its employees and agents against all claims, losses or damage to persons or property, government charges, fines and costs (including attorney s fees) arising out of or connected with the use of the facilities, including but not limited to the installation, removal, maintenance, occupancy or use of the premises, or any part thereof, by client/organization or any guest, invitee or agent of the client/organization or any independent contractor hired by the client/organization, except those claims arising out of negligence or willful misconduct of Surly Brewing.
