The Hangout is actually called the "Hang Out" because in the beginning there were no bar stools to sit on. There were only windsurfing trapezes, attached to the bar, where you could "hang" in.
Jibe City is a very relaxed and laid back windsurf center. The beautiful turquoise water at Lac Bay is an idyllic spot to windsurf. The dark patches you see in the water in front of the Hangout Beach Bar are protected seagrass beds. Lac's seagrass beds keep the bay's water clean and clear. It is also the seagrass that keeps Lac's fine white sand from being washed away. Seagrass produces oxygen and provides food and shelter for a wide variety of plants and animals, including two globally endangered species: Green Turtles and Queen Conch.
