Cominciò tutto a Venezia. Dalla terrazza della nonna, nella mansarda di fondamenta Ormesini, accedevo in una bassa soffitta e giocavo a nascondermi pensando di essere inseguito. Piccole emozioni e brividi di un bambino. Fu lì la scoperta. Vetro lucente, vero splendore, primo bagliore, primo stupore. Eterno amore... Un primo frammento conservato gelosamente, icona di un desiderio. Che non ha fine. Da lì son partito... Ho cercato e trovato, nelle strade della città, dai piccoli rigattieri di provincia, nelle case di campagna, da raffinati antiquari. Vi offro questa mia ricerca, questa scelta di colori, questo che come avete capito, è un sogno, una fantasia, una grande passione. It all began in Venice. From my granmother s terrace, in the attic of the Ormesini palazzo, I passed into a low-ceilinged garret and played at hiding myself, pretending that I had been followed. Emotion and thrills of a Childhood. And that was where I made the discovery.brilliant glass, in all its splendour, the first glow, me sized with wonder for the first time. Eternal love. A single fragment, jealously preserved, the icon of an endless desire. That s where I started from... I searched and found, in the streets of the towns, among small junk dealers, in old country houses, refined antique shops. I offer you the fruits of my research, this choice of colours, this which, as you have discerned, is but a dream, a fantasy, a magnificent passion.
