GENERAL AGREEMENT ON TARIFFS AND TRADE RESTRICTED COM.TD/W/71 26 October 1967 Limited Distribution Committee on Trade and Development Tenth Session Original: English/French ADVANCE IMPLEMNTATION OF KENNEDY ROUND TARIFF REDUCTIONS Notification by Contracting Parties 1. At its ninth session held on 26-27 July 1967, the Committee on Trade and Development discussed the question of advanced implementation of the reductions negotiated in the Kennedy Round on products of interest to developing countries and agreed to invite each of the developed contracting parties to make its best endeavours to submit by 15 October a list of products on which it proposed to take such action (COM.TD/47, paragraph 4). 2. Responses to this invitation have so far been received from the Governments of Denmark, Finland, Switzerland and the United States. These are reproduced on the following pages. 3. In addition the Canadian delegation has advised that a Governmental statement will be made in Parliament in the latter part of October concerning implementation of all Kennedy Round reductions, and that the Canadian delegation will then be able to advise the Committee on Trade and Development about implementation of reductions of particular interest to developing countries.
