FRANCE OVERSEAS BORDEAUX & Others SELECTION The Wine with a River for Terroir
CHÂTEAU HAUT-MEYREAU HISTORY Château Haut Meyreau is located to the town of Libourne's doors (10 kms), in the village of Dardenac. The winery dates back to 1802 and we are owner-growers since 1976. The property extends on the largest and the most famous French vineyard, in the Entre-Deux-Mers region, near the village of Saint Emilion. Between the Dordogne and the Garonne rivers, our property enjoys a unique climate and terroir. Over time, the domain has greatly developed its activity. From 5 hectares in 1802, it has gradually increased to reach 62 hectares until 2008, making it now a Bordeaux vineyard of medium size. We are working on the "king varieties" of the region with in red Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc / Merlot, with 52 ha dedicated to Merlot and Cabernet Franc; and in white with Sauvignon, with 10 ha dedicated to it. To obtain grapes with high potential, we are engaged in a high-quality policy in terms of soil management, pruning mastery and yields control. Since 2001, the annual production of Château Haut Meyreau is about 350,000 bottles. In the aim that everyone finds satisfaction among our products, we have made the choice to work with many other wine-growers from the Bordeaux region. That is how, to the seven wines from our property, have joined thirty other appellation-wines. These winemakers are now full-partners. They pledged to provide us with wines of consistent quality and to offer us the exclusivity on them. Always willing to offer you wines coming directly from the property, we now offer a range of about 35 wines (Côtes de Blaye, Fronsac, St. Emilion, Graves, Bergerac, Saint Estephe, etc).
