PRESENTATION Finca Nueva began in 2004 when I was missing a space in which to free rein to my creativity, where the labels were not resticted by the loyalty of the customers and to have freedom to launch in the market wines of new generation, fresh, entertaining and more approachable without losing my imprint. In a way, democratize wines of high quality. Finca Nueva is born to attend a tripple demand : the first one correspond to people who look for quality wines with approachable prices, the second to the new consumers who just enter the wine world and who want wines which meet their palate taste. The last one corresponds to the foreign market which is longing for a new image of Rioja wines Miguel Angel De Gregorio. FINCA NUEVA 1

LOCATION AND EMPLACEMENT Rioja Alta is located in the extreme northwest of Rioja Alta, on the right side of the River Most of our vineyards are located in Briones. This village is on top of a 80 meters height hill, with its north hillside cut on the river in almost a vertical slope. Our winery is located in Navarrete, PHYSICAL FRAMEWORK Briones lands spreads over Ebro bands since Valpierre plains, offering an undulating landscape. FINCA NUEVA 2

CLIMATIC CHARACTERISTICS La Rioja Alta climate is strongly continental with cold and humid winters and dry and warm summers. There is also an important Atlantic influence due to the fact that the distance between the Atlantic Ocean is only 70 km from us. It raise the relative levels of humidity attenuating the hard winters and torrid summers. The annual average Temperature is 12,7º C., with a summer-winter temperature alternation of 15,1º C. The predominant winds are northwest component (Cierzo), in general cold and humid, which moderate the summer temperatures. Winds coming from the south have a continental component and through the Ebro river comes Mediterranean streams. FINCA NUEVA 3

THE SOILS We have calcareous soils with an important gravel subsoil composition which gives us very fruity wines. The altitude fluctuates between 415-480m, expositions are north and northeast allowing an optimal ripeness. THE VINEYARD In FINCA NUEVA we cultivate 96 Ha. of vineyard, which is entirely located on hills with north, northeast and northwest orientations in order to catch in all its fullness the influence of Atlantic winds. Tempranillo is our main variety and we have also a little quantity of Grenache and Viura. The average density is 3600 vines per hectare (much higher than the average of the area) disposed on a Cordon Gobelet Pruning. The whole harvest is done by hand while we try to pick up the grape of each estate in its optimal ripeness moment. THE VARIETIES Tempranillo Garnacha Viura FINCA NUEVA 4

WINE MAKING VINIFICATION When the grapes arrive in the cellar, we proceed to a manual selection, eliminating all those bunches that show a defect. We elaborate two different ranges of wines: -The fresh, funny, pleasure wines : Finca Nueva tempranillo, Finca Nueva rosé, Finca Nueva Viura. The winemaking is done in stainless steel tanks with the method of destalked harvest, making intensive pumping over and shaking. Then the wine is bottled. - Oak aged wines : Finca Nueva white barrel fermented, Finca Nueva Crianza, Finca Nueva Reserva. The vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with the method of destalked harvest, making intensive pumping over and shaking. Later, we rack the wine from the tank to the wooden barrels. AGEING Ageing is done in 225 litres Bordeaux barrels during different periods of time depending each vintage.the barrels are 100% is French oak Allier and 3 years old on average. BOTTLING We bottle the wine without previous filtration in Bordeaux shape bottles of 75cl, and vacuum before we cork. We exclusively use synthetic cork for the Finca Nueva tempranillo, Finca Nueva Viura and Finca Nueva Rosé. however we use natural cork of 49x24 mm for the range aged in Barrel sucha as Finca Nueva white barrel fermented, Finca Nueva Crianza, Finca Nueva Reserva. The bottles remain at least 72 hours in an upside position before they are stored lying to facilitate the decompression of the cork. FINCA NUEVA 5

COMMERCIALIZATION In FINCA NUEVA, we produce about 500.000 bottles a year, 75% of them are exported through our distributors and importers network in 41 countries of Europe, Asia and America.
