WINE-GROWING ESTATE RIESLING PINOT BLANC AUXERROIS PINOT GRIS PINOT NOIR FOUR There are a few philosophies that apply in winemaking. One is that it is a craft that is closely linked with nature, the other is to think it is more creative and inventive. Claus Burmeister claims that the one does not exclude the other but rather works closely together to give more options. With this approach mister Burmeister is very conscious of the roots surrounding viticulture without losing focus or creatively interpreting them in the development and final product of the wines. This vision is focused on wine as an experience of taste perceived on the pallet which brings it beyond what s in the glass. The basis of the creative compositions and permanent developments are derived from the purity of the grape varietals as well as the distinctive soils in which they are grown. To achieve these results it takes a lot of meticulous detail which includes not only the careful handling of the grapes but also the knowledge of how to handle the mash during the maturation process and beyond. During this process the wine is kept in either stainless steel tanks, wooden barrels or barrique barrels. The end result is a contribution by our experts that convince and sway not only the sophisticated connoisseur but the wine professional as well. Since 2010 the estate is certified in organic farming.

WINE-GROWING AREAS AND VINEYARDS Wine from the famous agricultural and vinicultural region of the Kraichgau is perceived not only as wine from Baden but as a very special region, where nature has blessed with amazing conditions. The sunlight and the Keuper (a special kind of marl) soils, which are very rich in minerals, are the factors that make the grapes growing on the south-facing slopes above the winegrowing village of Tiefenbach absolutely special. These are the grapes which Claus Burmeister and cellar master Jürgen Kern of the wine-growing estate Heitlinger compose and develop into exceptional blends or Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir wines. The most renowned areas are Spiegelberg, Schellenbrunnen, Kapelle and Königsbecher. These are the Grand Crus vineyards in which the best wines of the segment Heitlinger Experience have their origin. DICKER FRANZ HUSARENKAPPE LÖCHLE RABANUS CORVUS WINE-GROWING ESTATE BURG RAVENSBURG The prominent location on which the huge keep of Ravensburg castle sits and overlooks the vineyards below it s foundations is a hill on the outskirts of the Kraichgau region. At a height of 280 meters above sea level it offers a great view over the Upper Rhine valley. The key to the secrets of the wines of Burg Ravensburg wine growing estate is to be found in the unique location and the extremely uncommon composition of the vineyard soils. Surrounded from East to South by the forests of the Stromberg, as this hilly landscape is called in German, the grapes receive plenty of sunlight. It is a special variant of the Keuper (which is the prevailing geological formation of this region) that turns this sunlight into heat and supplies it to the grapes in an optimum way. The uniqueness of this territory is the source from which the wine-making estate Burg Ravensburg with its renowned vineyard areas DICKER FRANZ, HUSARENKAPPE and LÖCHLE and the experience from more than 750 years produces selected first-class wines. Since 2010 the estate is certified in organic farming.

DICKER FRANZ LEMBERGER HUSARENKAPPE RIESLING LÖCHLE PINOT BLANC PINOT GRIS PINOT NOIR The Grand Cru vineyard area DICKER FRANZ was named after Baron Franz Göler of Ravensburg (1701 to 1765). He was a devoted to the culinary pleasures and is mentioned in the family chronicle as the Dicke Herr (Fat Gentleman). The previous castle building at the keep of Ravensburg castle and also his favourite vineyard where named after him. Nowadays, this name stands for richly flavoured and powerful red Lemberger wines. The name of the Grand Cru vineyard HUSARENKAPPE (hussar s cap) originates with Baron Benjamin Göler of Ravensburg, a major in the hussar regiment of Baden (1782-1834). The legend says that his commander-in-chief, Margrave Karl-Friedrich of Baden, gave him Riesling seedlings as a present. He then brought these seedlings to Sulzfeld in his cap to plant them in the vineyards of the castle hill. This is the story how the Riesling vineyard area HUSARENKAPPE was established. The Grand Cru vineyard LÖCHLE (small hole) is located in the southernmost part of the castle hill. These vineyards are partly terraced and they have an inclination of up to 40 degrees. The special feature of this area, from which it also gets its name, is a natural basin-shaped hollow in the landscape. The two flanks of the hill protect this vineyard area against cold winds, this is the reason why a particularly warm microclimate can develop there. Finally, all this provides optimum conditions for wines of the Pinot family.

RABANUS RIESLING BRUT In honour of the progenitor of the Ravensburg dynasty, this vintage Riesling sparkling wine bears his name: Rabanus (930 A.D.). CORVUS LEMBERGER The raven, in Latin corvus, is the heraldic bird of the wine-making estate Burg Ravensburg. Only rigorously selected handpicked grapes from best vintages are used for the CORVUS. It is developed and kept exclusively in 225-litre barrique barrels.
